Caffetteria Vida Loca — Restaurant in Gallipoli

Definitely not a place I would recommend. While waiting for a bus in over 40°C heat, we decided to order two non-alcoholic mojitos to cool down. Unfortunately, they turned out to be the worst mojitos I’ve ever had. No brown sugar, no syrup—just water, ice, a bit of mint, and a slice of lime. That’s it.

To make things worse, we were charged €6.50 each for a 0.25L glass of this bland drink. Meanwhile, at other places, you can get two proper alcoholic mojitos for €10. It honestly felt like the price was either made up on the spot or confused with that of an alcoholic version—who knows.

To avoid any claims that my review is fake, I’ll include some specific details. I visited yesterday around 4 PM and was served by two bartenders – a young man and a young woman, both appearing to be in their early 20s. The girl had long brown hair. At one point, she asked the price of a drink from a man wearing a colorful hat (possibly the owner), and he replied €6.50 (I guess, as it was in Italian) - it was what we were charged.

Regardless of these details, the cocktails were horrible. Definitely not worth the price.

Prima volta al Vida Loca!

Abbiamo cenato in due con alcune proposte del locale e devo dire che sono rimasta molto sorpresa per la varietà delle proposte tra terra e mare. Ideale per aperitivi con pepata di cozze/ ostriche e cocktail o per un pranzo in riva al mare e anche per una cena tranquilla nel cuore di Gallipoli! Come proposta non avendo molta fame abbiamo preso i frittini veramente di qualità, con panzerotti, nuggets, polpette e patatine spettacolari. La parmigiana molto buona come quella della nonna, per gusto personale la mangio con meno sugo ma il piatto era molto equilibrato e una bella porzione. Poi la pepata veramente spettacolare con un sughetto da scarpetta. Tornerò a provare le proposte di pesce per un bel aperitivo un riva al mare! Complimenti al personale molto giovane e cordiale e servizio super veloce, sono stati cordiali a fornirci info sui servizi di Gallipoli e ci hanno consigliato bellissime esperienze. Tempi di attesa ottimi, in poco tempo abbiamo avuto tutto! Prezzo per Gallipoli super convenienti consigliato per chi vuole mangiare...

Dopo aver ordinato da bere, c'è stato offerto del cibo da accompagnare alle bevande, definito come"qualcosina da mangiare/un aperitivo ridotto". Solamente uno di noi ha accettato, ci sono stati portati 3 vassoietti di stuzzichini...peccato che il prezzo fosse di 40 euro. Ci siamo rivolti al bar per chiedere spiegazioni sullo scontrino e ci è stato detto "qui l'aperitivo si fa così, avreste dovuto chiedere più spiegazioni voi, non è nostra responsabilità". Il barista si è preso la libertà di calcolare un aperitivo per otto (probabilmente perché aveva visto che eravamo tutti giovani). Abbiamo ricevuto delle "scuse" ma abbiamo comunque dovuto pagare il conto intero. Sconsigliato per la poca trasparenza e la maleducazione. Ci siamo sentiti...
