I spent about three weeks in the town of Lago Patria, Italy. It is a smaller town, and there aren't a ton of places to eat - at least that we could find. We tried as many restaurants as we could and, each time, determined that Trattoria Ribot was the standard on which to base all of the others. The atmosphere is perfect and, although it is a larger dining room area, it seems to stay quiet so that you don't find yourself raising your voice to be heard and straining to hear the person across the table from you. Whether it is pizza, pasta, steak, dessert, or even an appetizer (my favorite was the caprese), this place far exceeds all of the others in the local area and was the one that we always ended up going back to. The service is also above expected. Honestly, the servers were always attentive and helpful. Another nice little feature is that whenever you order, the waiter writes down your order on carbon paper of some sort, and then leaves you the copy so that you know there is no misunderstanding on what was ordered and by who. We found this really helpful as my colleagues and I were always splitting the bill and covering our own meals. During our multicourse meals, they were also very careful to take note of when we wanted follow-on courses delivered and how. Over the course of several visits, the staff took notice of our interests and appetites and began to make very helpful recommendations based on what they knew about us. I really love how this restaurant was furnished and decorated - inside and out! Take note that they do work with major credit cards - although I never really try to use my American Express card at smaller places like this as I have been told the fees incured on the restaurant are high. The only difficult thing with eating here was the very small parking lot and the location at the end of the street (just prior to the highway turn-offs. If you go early enough in the evening, then neither should...
Read moreA restaurant with an equine motive. This was our third time visiting, but not a restaurant that makes one feel comfortable. There is no convenient parking available, but has outdoor seating and a designated smoking area. The main waiter is somewhat grumpy, the front desk lady, who is always dressed very nice (perhaps owner) seems to always make snarky comments towards her staff and I believe husband, which is very noticeable. I have yet to see her smile or interact in a friendly manner with patrons. However, the last waitress was very nice and attentive. Many menu items are often not available; communication seems difficult, even when ordering in Italian. We paid 30 Euros for a gilled seafood platter for two and what was delivered was overcooked and very, very meager. Each portion included a small 2x2 inch piece of swordfish that was not fresh, one prawn, one small piece of octopus with three small tentacles and a piece of squid, perhaps 2x3 inches. The food tasted not grilled, but of charcoal. On a good note, the clams and mussel appetizer was fresh, but nothing extraordinary. The restaurant reminds me of an establishment that targets international customers and overcharges accordingly. The entire meal for four persons with drinks was about 75 Euros and in my opinion the white 'house wine' was the only memorable thing of the...

Had dinner here AGAIN last night and you just can’t beat the food, service and atmosphere!
Last night we even tried their crème brûlée for dessert and it was lovely!
Now they even have an attendant to watch the cars and assist you when pulling in/out.

We have been here several times and we have never been disappointed.
This is a traditional local Italian restaurant and they make you feel at home. They have a wide variety of dishes, pasta, pizza, steak and recently I tried their black pork and it was amazing! (See pics)
Their house wine varies but is usually very good at a very reasonable price with a very full glass! Last time they even gave us a bottle of wine as we departed since we liked it so much!
I’ve even had their pizza - it’s excellent! I prefer...
