Unfortunately, according to our experience, the biggest disappointment when it comes to gastronomic/catering service in Tuscany. During our seven-day stay in Tuscany, we were also in places with many more guests where we were greeted more politely. Before our arrival at Il Guerrino for a late lunch, the restaurant was crowded, which had cleared by the time we arrived. At the beginning, we were understanding about that situation and for the first 35-40 minutes we stood patiently waiting for one of the free tables on the terrace to be prepared for us. After we finally got it, we were told that we could sit down and then again no one noticed us, at least to ask us for a little more patience or to ask us if we would like something to drink while we wait for them to take the order, nothing at all, as if we were not there . We spoke to the staff again, said that we thought it was not at all professional, to which the host said that they were busy earlier (we had been there for an hour, hungry and thirsty). We mentioned that we would have to leave a negative review and of course, they didn't care much about that either. I'm sorry I have to leave a bad rating and describe the situation at this length, but you didn't leave us much of a choice.
Update after the restaurant's response: unfortunately, your response is at the level of service. You were aware of our arrival from the first moment. The crowd had passed by then. We only sat down at the table when you prepared it and told us we could sit down, so you continued to ignore us. If you had shown any interest, goodwill or if you had said that you could not serve us, we would have understood. We contacted you before leaving and expressed our dissatisfaction. We know how to be tourists, this was not our first trip or visit to...
Read moreA Hidden Gem in the Heart of Tuscany Il Guerrino is an absolute treasure nestled in the charming village of Montefioralle. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning panoramic views of the Chianti hills, despite the rain, which set the backdrop for an unforgettable dining experience.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. We started with the brochette, which was perfectly toasted and topped with the freshest ingredients. For the main course, I had the lasagna, which was rich, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. My wife had the gnocchi, which was light, fluffy, and paired with a delicious pesto sauce. To top it all off, we indulged in the pistachio cheesecake and tiramisu for dessert—both were heavenly and the perfect end to our meal.
The Chianti wine was the best we’ve had! 🍷
The service was impeccable. The team made us feel right at home, adding a personal touch that made our visit even more special. Despite the rain, which kept us indoors, the cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality more than made up for it.
Il Guerrino offers a delightful blend of traditional Tuscan cuisine with a modern twist, all while maintaining a welcoming and relaxed ambiance. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, this restaurant is a must-visit. We can’t wait to return and enjoy the outdoor terrace on...
Read moreThis used to be the best place ever. Unfortunately much has changed (name stayed the same and decoration too!) and it is now a place for tourists only where the food is overpriced and nothing special anymore.
We ordered a cold platter which was ok but the quantities for 25€ were just beyond little. We live in the area and you are better off anywhere else to be honest.
Other than that we had a pappa al pomodoro which was sour and the burrata was undefinable (must have been half of it but we really struggled to recognize it as such).
You do not get any oil, aceto balsamico salt or pepper anymore (it was not present on any table) and when we went to pay the owner complained to us about other guests rather than asking us if everything was fine.
The view is great but that is also the case from the other locations in Montefioralle.
Now all tables are set close together rather then before where it was spread out widely on this nice terrace and you now have 3 huge aircons outside which do not make any sense at all besides being loud and ugly.
We were so disappointed that this place changed so badly and will not come back to this restaurant unfortunately. We will now try other options in Montefioralle that look very appealing and...
