Buca San Lorenzo — Restaurant in Grosseto

A storm in Grosseto brought me and my family to this restaurant. The restaurant was still closed, but they still let us in so they wouldn't make us wait in the rain. We got the best red wine there and they made us an amazing meal. When it came to paying, they refused to pay. It was the most beautiful human gesture we experienced in Italy. I wish the people in the restaurant the best of luck in life.

Absolutely amazing meal, all locals and definitely not a tourist trap. This is a restaurant that specializes in seafood so don’t bring your kids for chicken fingers! The menu is verbatim, just trust the owner, eat well and splurge on a special someone who can appreciate the quaint and intimate setting or in my case go by yourself as to not waste time on small talk so you can savor every single bite. maybe 15 seats, so get here...

La buca di San Lorenzo é sempre una garanzia! Locale ben curato e accogliente, climatizzato, che con questo caldo di agosto fa molto piacere. Sono io e la mia signora, Claudio il proprietario ci fa accomodare e ci porta immediatamente acqua e vino. Subito dopo viene a prendere l'ordinazione e ci offre un varietà di piatti di pesce dove diventa difficile la scelta. Prendiamo un assaggio di vari antipasti di pesce, tutti veramente prelibati e sfiziosi. Arrivano i primi, io una carbonara di pesce, buona e delicata,mia moglie ravioli al nero di seppia ripieni di scampi, anche questo molto buono. Il secondo per me totani gratinati al forno con patate e verdure, un classico ma sempre graditissimo e per mia moglie trancio di dentice con patate e verdure, e qui oltre alla bontà apprezzi la freschezza del pesce!
