Antico Ristorante La Certosa — Restaurant in Impruneta

Only reason I'm reviewing is because the pizza was great. The staff was very rude and was obviously not interested in having us dine with them. We showed up at 6:45pm (after a long day of traveling) and they originally asked if we had a reservation, we awkwardly said no and waited for them to turn us away.

They had us sit in this big room with NO other people. They only let us eat pizza, refused us a regular menu. We asked if we could do a bottle or glass of wine and they acted as if we were idiots. They brought us our wine back and delivered the pizza. The food and wine was really nice and a good price. But when we asked if we could potentially order dessert we were once again told no.

They kept staring us the whole meal, we assumed they wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. When we finished our food the waiter came and got our plates and hurried off and kind of ushered us to pay our check and leave (which is not what we thought Italians did. We were told they lounged and ate and drank and chatted for a while after eating) so obviously we felt rushed to get tf out.

When it came time to pay, the bill was only like $38 euro which was great and I tipped the waiter $5 euro which may not have been a lot but I felt it was more than generous for the LACK of customer service we received.

When leaving, they couldn't seem happier that we left. I would not come here again. I could find good pizza anywhere but it really ruined the vibe we were looking forward to while...

We were highly recommended this restaurant by some family members who had been here a few years back. We were told it was the best pasta they had in Italy. Well something must have changed because it was easily the worst food we’ve had on our trip so far. First of all the place was completely empty, which should have been our first sign. Secondly both of our meals were extremely salty. My husband was chewing on large salt chunks with every bite of his “burger”. He ordered a burger but it was literally just a ground meat patty with nothing else, and he had to order potatoes as a side separately. His potatoes were old and reheated, while my pasta with mushrooms and lard was extremely chewy from both undercooked pasta and excessive amounts of lard. Our meals cost us 33 euros, which was an absurd amount of money to pay for the terrible quality of food we were served. We considered complaining to the waitress, but a group of tourists had just come in as we were finishing up, and she was too busy bringing out day old potatoes to all of them to listen to what we had to say. Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! And to top it all off, both our stomachs are doing summersaults which is never what you want...

Sono stato a cena, di sabato a luglio, eravamo una decina di persone per la prima volta in questo locale. Ambiente grande con molti coperti anche all'aperto e comodo parcheggio. Il menù non è ampio, gli antipasti sono buoni, e le pizze buone a 6,50 € le pizze classiche.. Nota dolente.. avevamo bambini intolleranti e nel chiedere ingredienti di alcuni alimenti dei primi piatti la cameriera , che poi abbiamo saputo che era la responsabile della sala, ci ha risposto che non poteva assolutamente andare in cucina a chiederli con la confusione del momento. Premetto che il locale non era pieno, all'interno i tavoli erano vuoti e all'esterno non quasi pieno. Mi sono alzato e sono andato a cercare il titolare, perché non accettavo la risposta della cameriera ma era assente e altri camerieri mi hanno indirizzato sul ragazzo che ci ha ricevuto all'ingresso che si è scusato e promesso che in poco tempo ci avrebbe fornito gli ingredienti. Alla fine dei conti il ragazzo non si è mai presentato e invece del primo che avevamo bisogno degli ingredienti ci hanno portato una pasta all'olio non richiesta assolutamente da noi, poi sbagliando altri primi e dimenticato di un primo che nel frattempo erano arrivate anche le pizze.. Oltretutto mia nipote che non aveva ricevuto il primo piatto ordinato dopo che è andata a chiedere spiegazioni è stata trattata male e offesa dalla cameriera che era la responsabile di sala. Non ci si comporta in questo modo con i clienti e se hanno delle intolleranze/allergie bisogna cercare di provare a soddisfare le loro esigenze. Finiti di mangiare è arrivato il primo di mia nipote, pici che erano crudi che non si piegavano neanche, immangiabili e lasciati sul tavolo. Al conto ci ha scalato i primi sbagliati che non avevamo mangiato, era il minimo che potesse fare. Questo locale con poco avrebbe del potenziale enorme perché la struttura è bella ma è lasciato in mano a gente incompetente maleducata e menefreghista. La cucina sarebbe buona, ma il servizio pessimo, manca proprio l'anello che congiunge la cucina con il cliente. Non ci siamo proprio.
