Maison Carrel — Restaurant in La Thuile

Wonderful food, interesting wine, a little difficult to find and I can't say the interior is anything too great, but a must-go place for a lunch stop.

Charcuterie plate is well presented, priced and extensive.

Pastas are similarly well priced with some unique mountain options and of course is made fresh, no dried stuff here.

We came twice in a row to this restaurant on a busy weekend with no booking. They were super welcoming and managed both times to find us a solution despite the crowd. Molto consigliato dai maestri di sci io e mio marito abbiamo provato a pranzare il secondo giorno di vacanza con i nostri due ragazzi, giornata calda di sole. Appena avvicinati abbiamo visto delle persone lasciare i tavoli all'esterno quindi ci siamo avvicinati per chiedere se fosse libero. Il cameriere ci ha cacciati in malo modo "non c'è niente di libero fino alle 14.30". Va bene, ma non c'è bisogno di imbruttire, quando sindice che un sorriso potrebbe fate la differenza... Oggi previsioni pessime, vento e freddo. Chiamo e prenoto un tavolo al ristorante. Mi aspettavo uno chalet di montagna, caldo e accogliente, abbiamo trovato un posto troppo moderno per i miei gusti ma soprattutto tanto, tanto tanto freddo. Nulla per scaldarsi. A stento siamo riusciti a togliere le giacche. Probabilmente sono abituati alle temperature basse ma noi no, se vi aspettate ambiente caldo e atmosfera rilassata, una stube o un semplice termosifone dove far asciugare guanti o cappelli mentre mangiate state...
