When you have had enough of fish… come here! The food and service were exquisite, it truly felt like home with nonna in the kitchen, (2 chefs from Rome offering their very best on their Roman summer menu). It was all DELICIOUS every item every bite was heaven, from the zucchini flowers and mozzarella in carrozza appetizers, to the cacio e pepe pasta, to the meatballs amatriciana for a second dish, to the side dish of cicoria, the fig crostata for dessert, traditional coffee served in a moka and Cesanese wine from Lazio. Se volete mangiare poco, pagare tanto un cibo da supermercato e andare via col sentimento di essere stati fregati - la trattoria “Cacio e pepe" a Lampedusa è il posto perfetto! Abbiamo scelto questo posto dalle recensioni positive, ma sicuramente non veritiere, perché i piatti non sono per niente abbondanti, anzi una vergogna. Perché non esiste un vitello tonnato da supermercato che me lo fai pagare 20€. Perché la porchetta di Ariccia è da supermercato (aveva capito anche il cittadino straniero senza mai aver assaggiato la porchetta di Ariccia), invece noi sappiamo bene com’è la porchetta vera. Eravamo in 7 tra cui 3 persone straniere in missione a Lampedusa, che sono rimasti delusissimi della qualità e quantità del cibo proposto. Siamo rimasti delusi del menu fisso proposto, poco chiaro: un antipasto e primo a scelta a 25€. Il problema era che non avevamo grande scelta, poche scelte di pesce (5 gr di baccalà in pastella, la pepata di cozze che proprio in quel giorno non potevano offrirla (forse perché sono finite le cozze al supermercato), i gnocchi alle cozze, fiori di zucca in pastella, tonnarelli cacio e pepe, tonnarelli alla Amatriciana, menu bambini (cotoletta, ovviamente da supermercato surgelata e patatine). Secondi sono fuori menù e vengono pagati 20€ a piatto, ovviamente visto la scarsa scelta del menu fisso per forza devi scegliere un secondo. Il vitello tonnato e la porchetta serviti a noi erano affettati sottovuoto da supermercato (ovviamente confermato dalla proprietaria con tanto orgoglio). Quando è arrivato il momento di pagare non sono riuscita a stare zitta e ho espresso la mia indignazione. Ovviamente la proprietaria ha dimostrato subito la mancanza di empatia. Cara proprietaria, l'ignoranza è una patologia che colpisce molte persone, i sintomi sono: la cattiveria, la presunzione, l'invidia e la cattiva educazione. Non si può rispondere a un cliente in quella maniera, non si alza la voce e soprattutto non si urla davanti a tutti. Non si può dire a un cliente: "Ne farò a meno”. Un locale del genere non può sopravvivere a lungo ed è destinato alla rovina!!!! Essere umili verso i superiori è un dovere, verso gli eguali è cortesia, verso gli inferiori è nobiltà, verso...

This place is extremely welcoming, from the staff at the restaurant to the ambience set on the older side of the port, with the magical evenings and sunsets of Lampedusa. The food was prepared with care and attention and the taste was delicious. It is exactly what you expect from a good Italian restaurant. We had a trio of pasta of the aglio e oglio, amatriciana and the classic carbonara. Then we had a scottadito dish. Very well prepared with a beautiful presentation.
