Pizza in Riviera — Restaurant in Lignano Sabbiadoro

We needed a break from pizza, but their non-pizza menu was one page of few choices. We shared a rather lack-luster bresaola, ruccola, chips of grano. They were out of bread, but offered a dull foccacia. That added €4 to the bill in addition to the €2 cover each, which should have included the bread! I had the "insalata mediterranea" as it was the only salad without iceberg lettuce. Edible, but not memorable. Pizza dough is all handmade and fresh each day, extra effort is seen in producing the pizza.

The pizzas were delicious and better than average. However, the ingredients seemed a little for the seafood pizza, but perhaps my expectations were high, such as having clams and squid along. Prices were a little higher, too. Perhaps it could be the region where I am buying from, but still, what could be better than having pizza after a day at the beach?

The owners were friendly and helpful, and they gave the best service. The place is still great as it is around 5-10 minute walk...

I should have trusted the Italian review saying that the good rating only comes from tourists who don't know what a really good pizza is. The food was just barely okay, like a pizza in a second rate Pizzeria anywhere outside Italy, including bland dough and tasteless cheese. The arancini was one of the worst I have ever had. Also we had to wait for ages and then at the end were surprised by a service charge that was never mentioned, which was defended rather rudely by the owner. Conclusion: would definitely not go...
