Z'makana Stubu — Restaurant in Macugnaga

Rating three stars because of the service. As an English speaker, we didn’t have the best experience:

From the moment we were seated we had poor and difficult communication with one of the waiters.

The same waitress then interrogated us in a persistent and unprofessional way about what Covid-19 precautions and measures we took upon entering Italy. As if accusing us of not doing enough and potentially putting the restaurant at risk.

It’s worth mentioning that we wore masks, obviously presented no symptoms and took all necessary precautions recommended by the UK and Italy. We felt profiled and unwelcomed.

Food was good and inventive, but on the pricey side...

Bel locale, sicuramente pulitissimo senza dubbio, personale gentile, mangiare è buono e fresco ma finiamo qua. Cercavo qualche tipico piatto della zona. Loro tortellini o salmone non mi sembra miglior scelta per questo posto in montagna. Porzioni minuscoli sui piatti enormi. Quando ti portano il piatto pensi che arrivi una bella porzione ma in realtà quasi ti serve la lente per trovare il cibo. Una Peroni in bottiglia a 8€ -per me è un furto non mi è capitato neanche a Milano. Prezzi un po'più alti della media.. Troppa ansia per covid19. Quando abbiamo pagato volevano lasciare il nostro nome e numero di cellulare per avere il contatto in caso che qualcuno si ammala. Non mi è capitato a nessun parte e non mi è piaciuto. Quel giorno eravamo solo noi in locale. Un'altro giorno abbiamo mangiato ad altra parte dove abbiamo trovato il piatto tipico della zona - polenta con salsiccia, bella porzione a buon prezzo.
