Ristorante Da Bianca — Restaurant in Malcesine

I am confused. Coming from Australia where I was brought up eating pasta with a fork and spoon, I wonder why in Italian restaurants they supply you with a knife and fork? Is there some special knife technique or is it a religious thing? Also, this was the first place that served pasta dishes without the seemingly obligatory grated parmesan cheese. While I profess to be no pasta eating expert, I don't know of any pasta dish that I found ever that was not enhanced by at least the smell of freshly grated Parmesan either nearby or delicately infused with the dish. Now for the good news: the pasta dish I selected was cooked to perfection, served hot and tasted wonderful. I think the chef takes pride in the ingredients and end product. I think the food was good value and a high standard. The menu had plenty of options and was written with large fonts so you don't need a microscope to browse. Next time, I will bring a spoon and ask for...

Absolutely awful. I honestly don’t understand how this place has any positive reviews – they must be fake or written by friends. The food was disgusting, especially the mussels – clearly not fresh, with a revolting smell and taste. The staff were rude, arrogant and completely unprofessional. When we expressed our concerns politely, they showed zero interest and still forced us to pay for a dish we couldn’t eat. No apology. No solution. No respect. One of the worst restaurants we’ve ever been to. Avoid at all costs.

Assolutamente terribile. Non capisco come questo posto abbia recensioni positive – sembrano false o scritte da amici. Il cibo era immangiabile, in particolare le cozze: non fresche, con un odore e sapore disgustoso. Il personale è stato scortese, arrogante e totalmente non professionale. Abbiamo segnalato il problema con educazione e ci hanno ignorati completamente, obbligandoci comunque a pagare per un piatto che non si poteva mangiare. Nessuna scusa, nessuna soluzione, nessun rispetto. Uno dei peggiori ristoranti mai visitati. Evitatelo assolutamente.

Tragedia. Nie mam pojęcia, skąd się biorą pozytywne opinie o tym miejscu – najprawdopodobniej są zmyślone albo pisane przez znajomych. Jedzenie było okropne, szczególnie małże – nieświeże, śmierdzące, niejadalne. Obsługa – arogancka, nieuprzejma i kompletnie nieprofesjonalna. Zgłosiliśmy problem spokojnie i kulturalnie – zostaliśmy zignorowani, a na koniec kazano nam zapłacić za danie, którego nie tknęliśmy. Brak przeprosin. Brak jakiejkolwiek odpowiedzialności. Brak szacunku dla klienta. Jedna z najgorszych restauracji, w jakich byliśmy. Omijać...

We went here since it got a high rating on TripAdvisor but got very disappointed. We are the grilled trout and the swordfish which both were very tasteless. This feels like a German tourist place since it actually is a combined Italian restaurant and a bier garten. The wine of the house was however pretty good, which also seemed to be their own wine. Would not go here again since there are real Italian restaurants with good food...
