LA CORTE — Restaurant in Marciana Marina

Decided to come here as the place looked nice, was busy and the last reviewer gave it 5 stars.

The setting is nice, each day has a set menu so limited options but enough. To be honest we haven’t found any food on Elba to be amazing but it’s nice enough. We got here at around 9pm and half the options were finished so we had to have alternatives which was a shame. Overall the food is nice but what let’s this place down is the service.

We sat down and didn’t get a wine list, had to ask when ordering food. Never received a bread basket. One of the main courses arrived with the starter. Manically waved down 3 waiters and no one ever looked up. Was given crab without anything to open it with. Again had to ask. No cheese offered for pasta, again had to ask. When main course came to share, no cutlery provided or extra plates and again had to ask. Nothing was thought about is the problem.

Place has potential but dear manager - please train your staff to use...

Aware of the rather bad reviews here (but still intended to go there, as the place as well as the food looked amazing when we passed by), we were a bit confused when we finally went there: we faced exactly the opposite – beautiful place, delicious food and excellent service!

As this restaurant seems to be rather new, I can imagine that they had some troubles in the beginning, but they definitely found a way to solve them. People (myself included) tend to write reviews especially when they experienced something bad and, unfortunately, hardly when they experience something good. La Corte looked busy the nights we passed by an we saw many happy faces. So were ours, when we went there for dinner!

Thus: a well deserved 5*-review! Many thanks, we enjoyed the seafood pasta and tuna steak as well as a very decent local vino blanco. We can only...

Those two stars are for the chef the food was good. The service is a mess. Took 20 mints to bring your water asked twice. Brings you beer which service having a difficult time to open you had to open yourself. And of course no beer glass. You drink with water glass. You have to ask for bread as somehow some table could have some table just got forgotten. Also please stop bring bread to new customer which were left from other tables.... we all saw you ... Next table a very polite person left with hungry after nicely asked for some win few times no one cares.sit there for more than 30mints finally left 5€...
