Ristorante Pizzeria CO.RI — Restaurant in Menaggio

We were in Menaggio around the first week of Oct. All of Lake Como is essentially a ghost town around this time of year, things were always closed down. Was hard to find a good restaurant near our airbb, which was higher up on the hill. The closest to us was Magnolia, but when we went there around 8p, it was closed even though Google said it was open. We were tired, hungry, and didn't feel like going far to find food. Walking up the hill, we ran into this place and were very grateful. Our server was an absolute pleasure, even though there was a language barrier. Food came out fast, lasagna was the best dish. It seemed there was limited options on the menu versus what I'm seeing in reviews? Maybe it changes based on time of year. The only thing we didn't like was the lake fish with polenta, but we didn't realize we were going to get whole fish (like branzino is normally served). How much time can you wait for the order containing 2 items and none of them needs any preparation (dessert and wine)? Well, 15 minutes, but only if you remind the service that you were still waiting. The restaurant wasn't full, so pretty much I can't understand positive opinions about the service. When we came we waited another 5 minutes for the table to be cleaned, preceded with a very rudely question of the waitress "can't you wait"? As I, said, the place wasn't full... We were completely alone in the restaurant and the personel used it as a living room with loud Skype calls etc. the food was less than impressive (a really bad filet with a mountain of starchy Gorgonzola sauce and a mushroom pasta that tasted like a cheap tomato cup soup from a discount supermarket).
