Giudamino — Restaurant in Mesagne

We were there and asked for the menu 3 times. The owner didn’t want to give us the menu because it would take too much time. He told us what’s there to eat and what not, which was really unprofessional because of course we forgot what he told us after he named 15-20 items. We weren’t able to read the menu so it we didn’t really know what we’d pay. After we all nearly ordered the same item, we called the owner back to our table to tell him that he needs to give us the menu now and that we were really unhappy with the way we got treated. He said again that he didn’t want it to take too much time. He also told us, we ordered too much stuff and it would’ve been quicker if we all ordered antipasti. As if we wanted to eat antipasti… Finally he gave us the menu so we could at least read and calculate. At the end we payed over 250€ for a lack of food. After we payed we told them again, that we were really unhappy with the service and that we won’t come back. We wanted to have a great family dinner and yes we asked the owner before if it was possible to have a nice family dinner. He said no problem. And then he just wanted to get rid of us. Everything should happen fast. We didn’t even finish eating our food and the waiter asked if we wanted dessert. We came here every year (holidays). We were never fully satisfied with the service but since the location is really beautiful, we didn’t really care. This time we were all really upset. The owner also looked very tired, he was grumpy and not dressed elegantly, rather unprofessional and talked to others while he talked to us.

Cuore e vino ottimi, ma la carne non convince. ​Una serata da Guidamino a Mesagne, un locale dove la passione dei proprietari è palpabile e il vino è eccellente, ma con una nota stonata sulla portata principale. ​L'atmosfera che si respira da Guidamino è quella di un posto gestito con amore e dedizione. Vedere i proprietari muoversi con affanno e passione tra i tavoli è un valore aggiunto che fa sentire l'ospite accolto e parte di una realtà familiare autentica. La carta dei vini si è rivelata un altro punto di forza, con etichette di qualità che hanno accompagnato piacevolmente la serata. ​Tuttavia, le aspettative sono state deluse dalla portata principale: il "filetto di cavallo". Proposto a 15 euro, il piatto non ha convinto né per qualità né per preparazione, risultando non all'altezza del prezzo. La delusione è accentuata dal fatto che, a Mesagne e dintorni, è possibile trovare alternative di carne equina di qualità superiore allo stesso prezzo o addirittura inferiore. ​In definitiva, l'esperienza da Guidamino lascia un'impressione agrodolce. Si consiglia per l'atmosfera e per un ottimo calice di vino, ma con la consapevolezza che sulla carne, in particolare sul filetto di cavallo, il rapporto qualità-prezzo potrebbe non soddisfare i palati più esigenti e informati sull'offerta locale. Luogo caratteristico, molto accogliente. Appena entrerete noterete che il personale è cortese ed affabile. Il ristorante ha l'aspetto di una tipica trattoria dove ci si ritrova tra amici a gustare i cibi di una volta. Infatti serve piatti tipici e gustosi. A chi vi si reca per la prima volta, suggerirei di provare gli antipasti proposti dalla casa che inclusono i tradizionali ortaggi e funghi sott'olio, una sfiziosa composizione di fritti (pettoline, crocchette di patate, polpette di pane, cozze ripiene), patate riso e cozze, parmigiana, involtini di carne, piccole pucce e altre proposte gustose ma mai pesanti. Fossi in voi, continuerei decisamente con un primo piatto. Anche qui avreste una grande varietà di alternative e, anche se sono certo che non vi pentireste di alcuna scelta, io assaggerei i ravioloni ripieni di burratina con sughetto di melanzane: deliziosi e delicati.
