I give it two stars because the place is visually beautiful, as seen from the street. Inside it's even cuter. Unfortunately, passing there for breakfast, I realized the service was bad. First, I went to the cashier's desk to order. It was Sunday morning, around 11 and the place was not too busy; it was packed at less than half the restaurant's capacity (edit: there were 9 people). There were two waitresses around the counter, but none came. After a few minutes, I asked if I could order, and one said to the other: "you do it." The person indicated with the "you do it," replied asking me to go and take a seat, saying that she would come to my table. Meanwhile, other people came to the cashier's desk, and the same waitress took the order from them. So I went to take a seat, waiting for the waitress to come to my table. After a few minutes, she came out of the cashier's desk and, without too much haste, she went to take the orders from the tables. After visiting the third table, the cook came out of the kitchen and called her. Still unhurried, she threw it all away and went to talk to him. After that, she returned to the cashier desk where other people came, and she started taking orders from them. At this point, I decided to go to the cashier's desk, too, as I have noticed that it is the most effective way of ordering at this place. I came to the cashier and asked: "Excuse me, ma'am, maybe I better order here? You told me to wait at the table but didn't come to take the order." "Stay calm. I won't leave you without food,"—she replied with a sarcastic grin, as if I was weird to want to order in a bar/restaurant. After half an hour and a few attempts to order, I walked out, never tasting the food, so I can't even tell if what they...
Read moreI recently stayed at Bovisa Urban Garden, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional!
From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness and tidiness of the accommodations. The rooms and common areas were spotless and well-maintained, creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere throughout my stay.
A standout aspect of my experience was the incredible staff, who went above and beyond to ensure my visit was perfect. I especially want to give a shoutout to Marika, the receptionist, whose helpfulness and friendly demeanor truly made my stay memorable. She was always ready to assist with directions, recommendations, and even small details to make me feel at home. She was also able to assist me in my native language (Spanish).
The location is convenient, with great access to public transportation and nearby amenities, yet it retains a peaceful charm that allows for relaxation.
Overall, my time at Bovisa Urban Garden was a 10/10 experience, and I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Milan. Thank you for such a...
Read moreOne of the best hostels I’ve stayed at! I was here while searching for permanent accommodation during my Erasmus at Polimi in Milan. If you're heading to the Bovisa campus, the location is great—it's right next door. Even if you're not a student, the hostel is close to the railway and some bus lines.
The beds are comfortable, and I appreciated the privacy curtains. Each bed comes with a regular outlet, a USB type A port, and a reading light, which was convenient. The staff really stood out as a highlight during my stay, friendly and welcoming.
The courtyard bistro/bar had a nice, relaxed atmosphere. While the food was slightly overpriced for what it was, the drinks were affordable, and everything I tried tasted good. My only major complaint would be the kitchen, which is a bit too small to comfortably accommodate more than one person cooking at a time. However, if you’re not in a hurry, it gets the job done.
Even if there are cheaper places to stay at, it is still affordable for students or backpackers, and for what I got it...
