My waitress the other night was welcoming and friendly, though I had to eat an entire course without being asked if I wanted another glass of wine (it was already empty when course was served). I was by myself so I didn’t want to order a whole bottle. Overall the ‚innovation‘ was a bit missing. The course that was most innovative, the aubergine filled with pasta tasted totally bland. The best dish was the ‚bloody mary‘ Shrimps. Wine recommendations were good, even though there was only one option for red and white wine. Dessert was a soggy lemon cake served in a glass, I could have lived without that. What really upset me though was that I wanted to go there again tonight. After I’ve had dinner in another place, but I wanted to have a nice glass of wine (which the other restaurant didn’t offer) and try another dessert from the menu. Also the terrace is quite nicely set up. So I thought this would be a great end to the evening. I told the waiter who was working there tonight (a different one than the night before) that I only wanted to have a glass of wine and a dessert and he answered very arrogantly ‚this is a restaurant. For a glass of wine you have to go to the bar.‘ and pointed towards a building site nearby. Apparently he wanted to show me a bar at a nearby piazza. It was 21:30 and there were only 3 or 4 tables occupied on the whole terrace. He could have easily seated me there and I would have also been fine with one of the tables outside of the terrace building too. But to completely refuse to serve me...well, seems like you’re doing well then. Good luck for...
Read moreBest restaurant in Sicile! Even if we arrived late (2:40) we were nicely welcome and set by the staff. The menu consists of many original inspirations from the chef which looked all delicious. The chef himself took our order and was able to guide us in our choices. In the end we chose the artichoke caponata, the the spaghetto al nero with lamb ragout, the spaghetti with fish ragout and the fish filet with potatoes. While waiting for our courses we were offered a few original and fancy appetizers accompanied my extra virgin olive oil and homemade bread freshly cooked in the oven. The courses arrived shortly after and it was absolutely perfect, we could really feel the exceptional quality of the ingredients and in particular how fresh the fishes were (caught in Milazzo in the morning, we could see them still alive inthe kitchen when entering the restaurant). The different savours were perfectly balanced, especially the ground/sea association with the lambd and the squid ink. While the portions were generous we made the mistake of looking at the dessert menu, and we has to taste them. The presentation and the taste were perfect to conclude our wonderful moment in this restaurant. All the staff was very kind with us and I strongly recommend to come to Milazzo just to eat here ! The bill was 110€ for three with one antipasti, three courses, 2 desserts...
