Panacea Ristorante — Restaurant in Modugno

We stopped at this place while traveling south during a multi week trip in Italy. The owners were incredibly gracious. The restaurant itself has a very pleasant ambiance. The food was for the most part spectacular. The wine pours were generous.

In addition to the dishes we ordered the chef presented us with two mouth watering treats. As others have mentioned the spaghetti assesina was spectacular. All these dishes were presented beautifully.

The downfall of the meal was the secundo, a mixed seafood plate. The problem for me with this plate was that everything was breaded and fried. I realized later this is a traditional presentation. Calamari, fish, shrimp and octopus. And served simply with lemon. Perhaps I should have inquired about the preparation but I feel the same seafood would have been much better (at least more to my liking) if it had been sautéed and served with some greens preferably some seaweed. Also a sauce would have been nice. A disappointing end to an otherwise...

One of the best in Bari. Dined here on 3 different occasions so far in quite different periods of time and they were always consistent with creativity, quality, portions, service and ambiance. Each dish is well researched, the food and drink menu is very clear with no ambiguity on ingredients, allergies or prices. The staff are at hand to help you or recommend something but without force, and they genuinely want to know if you enjoyed the food and experience. They welcome conversation and feedback from the diners- it doesn't surprise me that they constantly improve. Looking forward to coming...

Mi sono recata in questo ristorante la domenica appena trascorsa per un pranzo di coppia. Avendo dei buoni sconto di cui usufruire su Thefork e dopo aver visto le ottime recensioni di questo locale, ho deciso di cogliere l'occasione e provarlo. Purtroppo ho notato fin da subito un trattamento diverso nei nostri confronti rispetto agli altri clienti. A partire dall'entree di benvenuto, che non ci è stato servito, fino alle continue sollecitazioni da parte del cameriere circa le portate da ordinare. Credo che quando si vada a mangiare fuori, il cliente sia libero di ordinare ciò che desidera e, soprattutto, non debba sentirsi a disagio se desidera ordinare meno portate degli altri o non prendere una bottiglia di vino. Ovviamente ho fatto notare al cameriere il mio disagio e il suo atteggiamento verso di noi è cambiato radicalmente, da un estremo all'altro. Senz'altro il cibo era buono, niente di strabiliante, ma le porzioni che abbiamo ricevuto noi sono state davvero ridotte rispetto a quelle degli altri tavoli (mi riferisco ai 2 primi ordinati con l'intenzione di dividerli ma che si sono rivelate due mini porzioni) Non ho foto perché mi ha innervosito parecchio trovarmi in quella situazione. Tutto ciò per dire che, se un locale non gradisce che i clienti possano usufruire di alcune piattaforme per avere sconti sul conto finale, non dovrebbero semplicemente dare la possibilità di farlo. E se invece questa possibilità viene data, non é sicuramente piacevole per il cliente sentirsi gli occhi addosso durante il pasto. Non credo che tornerò in...
