Tender — Restaurant in Moneglia

DO NOT EAT HERE! When we were looking at the menu outside of the restaurant, a waiter immediately set us down at a table. We sat down and i put my bag on the table to get to the chair, a lady came and told me to put my bag on the chair next to me. Ofcourse this was already my intention but i did not even get the chance to fully sit down or i was told by this waitress in a rather rude way. Then we ordered our food. The parmaham with melon was okay. As a main dish we both had seafood. I had risotto with seafood and my boyfriend ordered the fried "local" seafood. Let me tell you. This restaurant puts a shame to anything you would call authentic italian cuisine. And when the food arrived within minutes of ordering, we realized we walked into a tourist trap. My risotto laid in a pool of oil, i was biting on shells which was not only unpleasant but also dangerous. My boyfriend had some fried shrimps that still had the shell on them so he couldn't even eat them?? (they had gotten so hard peeling was not even possible) Overall it was a very bad experience and it became even worse when i woke up in the middle of the night sick, and everything came out the way it went in... So please take my advice and do...

Had the absolute pleasure of eating two meals at this amazing restaurant in Moneglia (east of Genoa, Italy). I was alone on the first occasion but was so impressed with the quality of the food... and the price, that I went there again the next day (Sept 19) with two friends and they were just as impressed. The restaurant is across the road from a beautiful beach and the staff were attentive and friendly. The bream I had on the first evening was a dream - fresh, tender and beautifully grilled. In typical Italian style, they treat their ingredients with such respect. I sat outside because it was very warm, but the restaurant interior is gorgeous. There is plenty of parking close to the restaurant and quite a few interesting little shops where you can source local produce and keepsakes (not junk). Metto una stella perchè senza non si può pubblicare il messaggio, solo per quello! Pranzato lì 2 volte per lavoro a mezzogiorno di venerdì in bassa stagione. La prima volta ci accolgono chiedendoci se volevamo mangiare fuori o dentro e se volevamo ristorante o menu operaio. Visto che avevamo fretta abbiamo optato per menu fisso operaio già pronto. Niente di eccezionale e anche un pò cari ma sono veloci e ti servono subito quindi siamo tornati anche la seconda volta. Questa volta ci accoglie la madre che ci invita a sederci fuori e senza dire nulla ci propone un menù alla carta mentre ci posa sul tavolo tovaglioli di stoffa e poi ci mostra al tavolo un pesce crudo asserendo che era appena pescato e ce lo avrebbe cotto al momento e che poi ci proponeva frittelle di rossetti, ma poche perchè oggi il mare era mosso! (premetto non sono un turista abito nel paese vicino ..il mare era molto mosso da 3 giorni.....come lo avevano pescato il pesce fresco? e i sorretti? erano tre giorni che le barche non uscivano in mare! attenzione quando si raccontano le bugie se non sai chi hai davanti). Comunque visto che abbiamo fretta chiediamo che ci portino il menu fisso e la signora dice che non hanno menu fisso, allora specifico quello da operai e sempre la signora asserisce che al sabato non fanno menù operai. Peccato che era venerdì! Glielo faccio presente, a quel punto dice: allora devo mettervi i tovaglioli di carta (mica te li ho chiesti io quelli di stoffa) e chiamare mia figlia. La rassicuriamo che le varrà pagato il disturbo del tovagliolo e ogni sovraprezzo basta che facciamo presto che dobbiamo tornare al lavoro! Roba da matti! Dovevamo andarcene subito! Inoltre il secondo proposto e preso era salsiccia con patate: cioè 3 pezzetti di salsiccia a testa in un piatto di patate in umido scotte. Non ho parole. Devo prendere atto che poi quando dicono che in Liguria non siamo ospitali e maleducati...
