La Compagnia — Restaurant in Montalcino

What a gem!

We stumbled upon this restaurant located in the beautiful town of Torrenieri during our stay in Tuscany in August 2020. On our first impromptu try we could not get a table - the restaurant was fully booked and when we managed to get a table a couple of days later, it became obvious why one should book in advance... The restaurant has a fairly short menu - a handful of Antipasti, a few pastas and primi, as well as approx. 15-20 pizzas to choose from (and this is actually a positive!) The food was absolutely delicious, the service was exemplary (thank you Giulio!) and the prices were on the low-end of what you usually get in the vicinity of Montalcino. We returned there a couple of days later and were delighted once again.

Best food I had during my nearly 2 week trip to Italy. Amazing pasta, pizza and dessert. Very friendly waiter that accommodated my ignorance and poor attempts at speaking Italian. Tried 3 times to get food here, first time to busy (at 8.30) second time too busy (at 8.30) and the third time we went in at 7.30 to order a take away and they where too busy and wouldn't have our order until 9.15..
