Fish & Wine by Fish in the world — Restaurant in Montalto Uffugo

My son and I had a superb evening meal here and took advantage of the excellent set menu on offer: fantastic value at €35 each. Plate after plate of exquisite fresh fish antipasti arrived, followed by a selection of delicious 1st and 2nd course dishes that would be hard to beat anywhere. Everything was fresh, hand made and carefully curated to work together in the order presented. The variety of fish used and the attention to detail in the preparation and presentation made it a special experience. To accompany this is a selection of wonderful local Calabrian wines. This, together with expert advice on what to choose, is another reason to celebrate this place, as the region’s wines deserve to be far better known. So if you enjoy wonderful combinations of great fish and wine with excellent service I can’t recommend it...

The food was absolutely delicious. Every course was better than the last. The fish was very fresh. The service was amazing. We had several appetizers as samples and full orders. My husband has a fish allergy, and even though we are at a very popular restaurant for Seafood, they made sure he had everything he wanted. This was our first time here visiting Calabria from the USA (Chicago), and the people made us feel like family. Best experience here in Calabria!! Per accogliere me e altri neoassunti, la nuova azienda per cui lavoro ha organizzato una cena tutti insieme al Fish & Wine. Non sapevano che io purtroppo non mangio pesce, cosa che ho comunicato loro con un po' di imbarazzo. Molto carinamente, hanno pensato di avvisare il ristorante, che esclusivamente per me ha preparato un menù di terra, unico in tutto il nostro tavolo di 22 persone ma anche in tutto il locale, cosa da me molto apprezzata. Confesso che temevo che un ristorante specializzato in piatti di mare mi riservasse, anche comprensibilmente, un menù di terra banale, e invece non è stato così. È stato un menù da far invidia ai migliori ristoranti specializzati in piatti di terra! Raramente ho mangiato così bene in un ristorante. Carrellata di 9 antipasti, se ricordo bene, suddivisi in tre portate, poi un primo abbondantissimo e buonissimo così come l'ottimo secondo. Tutto impiantato in maniera invitante e presentato dal simpatico e gentilissimo proprietario con tutta la passione che mostra per il suo lavoro. Piatti gustosissimi con i prodotti e i sapori del territorio. Ovviamente anche i piatti di mare erano meravigliosamente impiattati e invitanti, e anche molto buoni a detta di tutti i commensali, motivo per cui quando mi capiterà di tornarci mi sono ripromesso...
