Overrated!

We went to this restaurant because it is recommended in several restaurant guides. We all agreed that we disagree with the guides! The dishes were ok but definitely do not deserve any kind of overwhelming words. In general the food is lacking refinement/subtleties. For example, the porcini came raw with a few slices of Parmesan cheese and some olive oil. Also, nobody of us believed that the pasta is home made. It rather looked like from a close by supermarket.

For me the only positive point to note is the very friendly owner and staff.

All in all this restaurant cannot be recommended. There are definitely much better restaurants in this beautiful area of Italy - so drive on after your visit to...

We had the Blu di bufala (Buffalo blue cheese) and Trancetto di baccalà (Cod with citrus fruits and puntarelle) starters followed by the Fagottelli di fonduta (cheese fondue ravioli with black truffle), the Spaghetti with octopus chorizo and the roasted endive (Indivia arrosto) mains - all were absolutely wonderful. The ravioli were outstanding and are a 'can't miss' if you do visit. Can't wait to go back when the outdoor terrace is open, as the views of Montescudaio and the coast are spectacular. A great place to go for a special occasion, or just to treat yourself or someone special....

The SaQua is a jewel for anyone looking for a fine dining experience in Tuscany. Modern interpretations of Italian cuisine, fantastically balanced. The interior is spacious and elegant, dominated by warm earthy tones. Simple and tasteful. The terrace offers a spectacular view over the countryside to the sea. It would be worth a visit for that alone. But the star of the evening is definitely the menu by Chef Simone. A feel-good journey through the culinary world. Not provocative, but rather very elegant comfort food. Wine accompaniment - also always top. The service is extremely helpful and very attentive - on every one of our visits. Zdecydowaliśmy się na menu degustacyjne i od pierwszych kęsów było jasne, że za tym miejscem stoi pasja i ogromny talent. Tatar z lokalnej wołowiny z kremem z awokado, proszkiem z oliwek i chrupiącymi płatkami pieczywa – świeży, delikatny, perfekcyjnie zbalansowany. Blu di bufala – intensywny ser z mleka bawolego w towarzystwie słodko-kwaśnych dodatków, które tworzyły niezwykłą harmonię smaków. Ravioli z dzikiem w maśle i szałwii – nasz faworyt wieczoru i absolutny hit. Cienkie, sprężyste ciasto i pełne, głębokie nadzienie sprawiły, że to danie zostanie z nami na długo. Tagliolino z gołębiem, jagodami i nutą gin-tonic – odważne, ale spójne połączenie. Wieprzowina z puree i chutneyem z jabłek i śliwek – chutney absolutnie rewelacyjne. Il ristorante si trova appena fuori Montescudaio, sulla strada principale, con facilità di parcheggio. La struttura è nuova e curata, il personale presente, non invadente, anche se avrei preferito un po' più di coinvolgimento nel descrivere i piatti, considerando quanto erano buoni. Decidiamo di optare per il menù degustazione da 60 euro a persona con una bottiglia di vino da 41 euro. Scegliamo il menù degustazione perché indecisi e quello che leggevamo non ci convinceva. Iniziano le portate e rimaniamo colpiti da ogni singolo boccone proposto. È una scoperta di sapori di abbinamenti che ci fanno discutere tutta la sera su ogni assaggio, con i ravioli al cinghiale che ci fanno rimanere a bocca aperta, compreso il sorbetto con aceto che fa litigare l'olfatto e le papille gustative. Potrei parlare per ore, raccontarvi ogni singolo morso, ogni singolo boccone, ma preferisco consigliarvi di andarci, sedervi e gustarvi la cena certo che ne uscirete felici, come noi. Faccio i complimenti al cuoco.
