La Smorfia - Napoli — Restaurant in Naples

An amazing experience. I went in pretty late so I was tired, especially given the obstacle course I ran trying to get to this place I'd heard of with the glowing reviews in such a discerning area but it was absolutely worth it. They showed me the English menu which I was tired so I only half read it and then instead decided to try to explain that I wanted the classic ham and mushroom pizza. Well they ran with it and chatted with me while they cooked my pizza in an authentic pizza oven. It was fantastic to watch and I felt somewhat involved. Then after spinning my pizza in the oven to perfection a guy who could have easily just been another customer joined the party as he finishes my pizza off with all the trimmings and hands it to me. This pizzeria was exactly what my dad and I were looking for for our last meal together in Napoli. We were staying at an airBnB nearby and needed to find a place close to us since it was getting later in the evening. We appreciated the reviews for La Smorfia, so we decided to try it. The chef greeted us with a big smile as we walked in….and it smelled SO good as we were led to our table. Our waiter gave us English menus even without us asking for one, we made our choices, and the pizzas did not disappoint!!!!! Our experience at La Smorfia was amazing. We arrived when they were closed but they still took us in and made us the most incredible food we have had yet on our vacation in Italy.
