We found the food to be reasonably priced and the waiting staff to be friendly - particularly the lady that I had a nice chat with about our holiday plans (sorry, I didn’t catch your name).
The staff were more than happy to speak English to us and although the menu was purely in Italian, they were happy to translate anything that we didn’t understand, without any judgement, and they even went as far as to recommend some vegetarian options to us.
The restaurant itself was nice and quiet and set off of the main road, so there was no pollution or traffic noises, which was a welcome surprise.
Lots of local families appeared to be eating here too, so I’ve taken that to mean that the food was considered good and authentic by Italians.
The service was a little slow to start with, but I got the impression that they were fairly busy with a large family table as we arrived, but once our order had been taken the food came out fairly quickly, as did the other courses that we ordered.

Read moreI can't say enough great things about Osteria No 5! We first went at the recommendation of the owner of the home we were renting while on vacation. We arrived as weary and hungry travelers and Diletta recommended some pizzas and wine for our group of 5. She was warm and attentive, and even sassy, which we loved! We soon realized that we had found a gem and knew we would be back. The next time we went, Diletta selected all of our meals for us and she was spot on! The food was outstanding, and the service was even better. On our last night in Napoli, we decided to return one more time just to see her. Again, outstanding food and we left with a new friend. Diletta, thank you for making our time in Napoli that much better. We promise to...
Read moreWhat an incredibly special place! To Diletta, Antonio, Alfonso, Fabio and friends- thank you for taking such good care of my family. We stayed down the road for a month and were lucky enough to have enjoyed Osteria N.5 many times. Our food was always impeccable. We did take out and sit down dinners and were never disappointed. Beyond that, The staff was the friendliest bunch we encountered in all of our travels. They took time on several occasions out of their busy day to show us pure Neopolitan hospitality. Antonio even shared his pizza making secrets by allowing us to come by before the restaurant opened. We felt more like family than customers....
