Pizzeria Carminiello — Restaurant in Naples

Decided to stop by for some food, we were put on a table at the far corner, ordered 2 pizzas and some fries, the fries took about 20 minutes to come out, we were expecting the pizzas maybe just after or at the same time, 50 minutes later we're still sat at the table after asking the waiter multiple times where our food is, tables were coming in after us and being served pretty much immediately. I got up to ask at the front where our food is, and they pointed over to the prep station, where it still hadn't even been made, nevermind put into the oven. after a long stay in rome where the pizza was disappointing I was overjoyed to find great pizza here

definitely try the pizza margherita (and maybe others) where you pay extra for DOP mozzarella and fresh tomatoes - that makes a huge difference

the place is very simple unpretentious and non touristy - its a neighborhood pizza joint - service was very good with at least one person with perfect english working there

bathroom was spotless (and very appreciated after a two hour drive from rome)

Pizzaria Carminiello honestly is the best pizzaria in Naples. It's a little family owned business that has been there for 100 years now. The staff were the most friendly and helpful people we met in Naples, they helped us out when our accommodation plans didn't work out. I think we ended up visiting them and getting food there almost every day we were on holiday! I can definitely recommend getting the fried aubergine and fried dough balls as an appetiser.
