Ristorante Pizzeria Reginè — Restaurant in Naples

I have never had such a horrible experience in a restaurant. My sister and I are on the final night of our wonderful trip to Italy, and are flying out of Naples to go home. This restaurant is located next to the Holiday Inn so we decided to get some dinner before calling it a night. From the moment we stepped in, the woman hostess was extremely rude. She was very impatient seating us, but we shrugged it off. Just needed a quick dinner. “Paulo” (an older heavyset waiter) came over and took our order. Not friendly, but that was ok. My sister ordered a filet. He asked if she wanted mushrooms and she said yes. The woman hostess brought our drinks and slammed the cans of soda on the table and stalked off. After about a 25 minute wait, the man brought my sisters food. It smelled like dirty feet and when my sister cut into it, it was completely raw. When he brought my food a couple of minutes later, he asked her what the problem was and she told him she wouldn’t be able to eat it because it was raw. He offered to take it back and cook it some more (the same one, covered in a sauce and mushrooms). She declined and said she didn’t want to eat it and that she would just pass on the food. He became very angry and started shouting at her in front of the other patrons telling her she would still have to pay for it and then stormed off. After about 5-10 minutes of him ignoring us we had to have another waiter get him for us so we could settle. He was still shouting and angry saying he would cook it longer, and she still declined. He angrily told us “I’ll bring the bill it’s no problem” and then brought the bill and still charged us. We tried talking to the woman/hostess at the register and she was equally as rude. We tried to say we would pay for everything else but we would not pay for that meal. They went back and forth saying he asked us how she wanted it cooked and that she said rare, and “that’s how it comes”. Then they threatened to call the police on us. I eventually paid for all items to stop the embarrassing shouting in front of all the other patrons (we had tears in our eyes at this point). We let them know that they were the only people in all of the places in Italy we went to that treated us the way they did. It was awful. Stay far far away from this place. Wow. My husband and I just got back to our hotel room at holiday inn right next door to this place. The entire way back to the room we were completely shocked at the utter rudeness of our older heavyset waiter. We are both extremely polite and always hit it off and have a fun time with our waiter/waitress. We're fun people. Really. We were charged 4 euro extra for something but I decided not to say anything because it wasn't worth it. The waiter was rude from the moment we sat down. He gave us the bill, spewed a whole bunch of Italian at us and said smthng about not charging for something or other if we pay cash. We paid with our credit card, which he took to the back (most places don't do that anymore) and then when he came back he was downright nasty. He waited for us to sign the paper and then just stood there glowering at us. It was extremely weird. My husband said ok grazie so we're done yes? And the waiter turned around and stomped off. I've never seen a waiter stand there and wait for a tip and in SUCH a blatantly rude manner. If we have credit card fraud on that card, I'll know exactly who stole our card number....

Definitely not the impression we wanted, paid the bill and left all the food. My wife and I on our second night in Italy wanted to have a romantic dinner so we saw this restaurant which looked pretty when we saw it upon arriving at the Holiday Inn. After waiting over an hour and a half with asking the waiter multiple times for our meal, they brought us pasta that was bland and hard. Everyone we have spoken to says Naples has the best pasta so we were excited to taste it but this pasta tasted as if it was put in to boil for about two minutes. It was hard and taste gross. I quickly asked for our steaks hoping that at least the steak would mask the bad taste of the pasta. After waiting even more time, the steaks came to us rare after we asked for well done. We were the first ones in the restaurant yet everyone had been served, ate their food, and checked out yet we had to keep asking for our food. This is the worst experience I have had here and in the US. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE...
