Thai e Vai — Restaurant in Naples

To echo what my husband said in a previous post… this might be our favorite restaurant we’ve ever eaten at. As the number of reviews grows, this hidden gem will earn the credit it deserves. You can’t go wrong with any dish here. The food is so delicately and expertly crafted, the flavors will blow your mind. Everyone here is so incredibly friendly + welcoming and we left feeling like family. If I could’ve extended my trip to Naples for one purpose it would be to visit our friends at Thai e Vai one more time. Y’all are incredible. Thank you :)

For meal recommendations: -Misto for Appetizer gives you a taste of all their appetizers -Kaeng Daeng Khai (red curry) is so flavorful and complex. I’ve never tasted a curry this flavorful. Bravo. -Khai Pad Med Mamuang (cashew chicken) is equally as good and so flavorful

If you are traveling to Naples and love Thai food, please come here!! My husband and myself are always seeking authentic Thai restaurants wherever we are as we travel continuously around the world all year long. The food here is everything you could ever imagine as a thoughtfully curated home cooked meal from a close friend or family member. You will not be disappointed. There is no seating inside but there are a few tables outside and it’s well worth the experience to try it if you love Thai food and are heavily surrounded by Italian restaurants. Più che buona esperienza: in due abbiamo ordinato Popia Tod (involtini), Saté khai (spiedini di pollo marinato con curry) accompagnato da una salsa d’arachidi spettacolare (m’aspettavo fosse difficilmente digeribile e invece no), Kao Pad (senza salsa di soia), in ultimo - ma non per rilevanza - Kaeng Daeng Khai con riso in accompagnamento. Partendo dagli involtini, dimenticatevi quelle robe surgelate tipiche dei 3/4 di locali che fanno cucina medio-orientale: mai mangiati involtini con una sfoglia così friabile come i Popia Tod; gli spiedini di pollo sono leggeri ed hanno un’anima di curry che gli conferisce un sapore particolare e sapido; il kao pad (noi l’abbiamo volgarmente ribattezzato “risotto alla cantonese” per la sua “”similitudine””** col riso nostrano) senza salsa di soia è parimenti buono e saporito; infine il pollo con bamboo - piccante piccante ma mangiabilissimo - con riso bianco: è stato un sapore nuovo ed è stato molto apprezzato, anche nell’abbinamento con riso scondito a contrastare il mix di condimenti del pollo. Cucina a vista di piacevolissimo vedere (tra l’altro complimenti per la pulizia dell’ambiente). Prodotti la cui qualità risiede evidentemente nelle materie prime che utilizzano. Servizio non celerissimo ma, di venerdì sera, è più che accettabile, dal momento che è tutto preparato al momento. Personale gentilissimo: ci hanno visti in moto e hanno spillato la busta e messo al sicuro il pollo con del cellophane. Spesi 34€ in coppia, conto onestissimo!
