Ristorante Caffè Decò — Restaurant in Oria

Very disappointed at the poor service we received on what was supposed to be a special birthday night for one of our party. We were shown to our table and it took half an hour before we got a drinks' menu which we had to ask for. The drinks took over half an hour to arrive and then we had to ask for a dinner menu. A number of items were not available but we proceeded anyway. The antipasti arrived in reasonable time but it was more than an hour before our main courses started to arrive after we had gone inside twice to ask what was taking so long. Three mixed grills arrived which were very poor, the lamb cutlet no meat on at all. The grilled vegetables which were the accompaniment arrived after they had finished. Two steaks then arrived without their accompaniments and the remaining 4 dishes didn't even arrive. We were then told that the others would take some more time before they came out. At this point we had been sitting at the table for over three hours and we told them to forget the rest so that we could feed the rest of our party before midnight at a nearby pizza takeaway. Despite numerous complaints to the management, they were not interested and insisted we pay the full amount without any apologies or explanation. A family group of 10 showed up for dinner on our first night in the area at about 6.30pm... turns out the dinner menu doesn't come into play until after 8pm. But our waiter, Antonio, was brilliant! He brought us drinks and hot and cold antipasti to keep us going, especially the kids. He made a huge effort to use his English to recommend dishes, as well as tell us about an upcoming festival. He was very attentive, really friendly, and provided an incredible dining experience. In addition, the food was great and the location, in a small village square, was perfect.
