One of my favorite pastry shops in the Ostuni area. I love to visit occasionally every time around, as I have an habit of carrying delicious pastry presents to family and friends as I go visit them (never show up empty handed when visiting any southern Italian household is a must). You can't absolutely go wrong with mignon style pastries; la Cassata carries a wide variety of them, including but not limited to traditional local favorites, mini cheesecakes and fruit pies as well. Traditional large size goodies are also available such as Tiramisu', all kinds of Cheesecakes, Ice Cream Cakes and more. We bought a tray of pastries to share with family. Really delicious, fresh and large selection! The lady serving us was very friendly, very kind, and we asked her to provide us with a mixed selection. We really recommend trying the babà, which is a pastry soaked in a rum syrup, which I'm now determined to learn to make!
