Trattoria La pignatta — Restaurant in Ovada

Everything in this restaurant was great, from the food to the attention and the decoration. We were a group of 6 and they offered us a table close to the inner patio. We ordered 2 anti pasti to share, and a dish of home made pasta each. All the dishes were perfectly cooked and seasoned, the best in my opinion was the pesto sauce. 🍝 We also tried the vitelo tonnato, creamy and very good. As a dessert we took the caramel flan and the almond cake with zabagnione, a cream made with a typical alcoholic drink and espressos. All in all great choice, totally worth to stop in Ovada to come...

Food is amazingly tasty although portions are very small.

Service was awful. Very nasty attitude towards tourists. They simply refused to accommodate us outside because ''the sun will come soon" which on it's own is a stupid excuse as it was midday and the table we wanted to sit at, was already shaded.

The waiter refused to explain any of the items in the menu as we don't speak Italian and not familiar with the terms.

Siamo tornati a La Pignatta dopo molto tempo. Non ci ha delusi. Nonostante le limitazioni dovute alla pandemia la qualità e la varietà delle proposte è rimasta invariata, forse cresciuta. La qualità è sempre ottima e i prezzi ragionevoli. Il dehor è caratteristico. Una "vera corte" interna, dove sono state conservate le caratteristiche architettoniche del luogo, una delle parti più antiche della città. L'arredamento è semplice ordinato e consono al luogo, aggiunge valore al locale proprio per l'assoluta mancanza di ricercatezza, che risulterebbe peraltro fittizia e comune a molte finte cantine o osterie ormai banalmente standard. Ci piace proprio per questa sua autenticità. Inoltre garantisce la giusta riservatezza e distanza da rumori, traffico, schiamazzi o altro tipico di molti dehor dei centri storici. È apprezzato da una clientela trasversale, per età e disponibilità economica. Lo consiglio sempre soprattutto a chi interessa la qualità, il giusto rapporto qualità prezzo e la lunga esperienza dei titolari. Non è adatto a chi voglia esibire conti stellari a riprova del proprio "valore", ed è disposto per questo a cenare in condizioni albientalmente sfavorevoli.
