I was visiting Marzamemi in autumn with my friend. Every internet page and book guide suggested that I need to visit it. Since I was in a lot of cities around Europe I quickly noticed that the village of Marzamemi is because of its reputation perfect recipe for a "tourist trap". Especially I linked quite average restaurant reviews compared to the rest of Sicily and really high prices since everybody wanted a glimpse of the old fisherman's village and dining experience in a vintage atmosphere. Because of that, I wanted to pick up a nice restaurant, not in the center of the village (higher prices) and one with above-average reviews like (L'approdo). After being seated we got shortened menu (of season time) and verbal assurance from the waiter that everything is fresh. We decided that we should order 9 starters and fresh fish for the main course. Firstly we received starters that were at least one day old or leftovers from lunch. Squids were chewy,... some dishes were not even warm. We decided to wait for the fish in the hope to correct our experience. Once we got the fish which actually looked fresh we were disappointed once more - it was raw on the inside. We refused to eat it and described situation to the manager. He didn't apologize only the waiter did and still charged everything even tho it was a devastating experience. I advise against visiting the restaurants in Marzememi,...
Read moreBased on the really good reviews, highly recommended by locals and outside the main expensive Marzamemi square, we decided to try this restaurant. We were given the shortened manu, saying that they serve only daily fresh fish. But what we got, was nothing close to fresh. The tasting menu was a disappointment, fried tuna fish was at least a day or two old, squids were not properly cleaned, everything was more or less cold. After that we ordered grilled fish which came raw. The only star deserves the waiter who spoke good enough english at the end and he understood the situation. No apologies were given by the manager who served us the whole evening. We believe that the restaurant takes care for the local guests, but is willing to serve the leftovers from previous days to...

VINO Vino bianco Don Lollò (grillo) Vino molto fresco, bilanciato e fruttato.
*Ravioli cernia Piatto ottimi In tutti i sensi.
Amaro locale.
Tutti davvero ottimi, soprattutto il...
