Acquamadre — Restaurant in Pachino

Very nice location and good service. The manager speaks good English. Most people here order pizza (it is the most affordable thing on the menu), though the rest of the menu also looks good.

I got the Acquamadre pizza because of the name and it was really the strangest pizza I ever ate, involving cuttlefish ink, slices of cuttlefish, and a crust stuffed with ricotta. I faintly tasted hazelnuts, but maybe that was the cuttlefish. The antipasto was also strange, a ball of burrata surrounded by cold tomato sauce and topped with shrimp tartare. These are definitely creative dishes, and it’s unusual to find anything creative in traditional Italian restaurants, but maybe just a little too far afield.

The quality of the ingredients was good, but the flavors just didn’t work together, so I can’t give more...

Tried to call several times to reserve and the number on Google was not working. When we showed up for lunch they had 5 tables outside completely empty . We were a party of four and asked if we could sit outside and they said yes . Five minutes later they said the chef was stressed out because they were too busy inside and told us we can’t have lunch . They asked us to leave . Shocking !the owner was grumpy and not gracious at all offering no apology .Why work in hospitality if you do t know how to deal with guests ? Esperienza un po' deludente in questo posto, che aveva il vantaggio di essere l'unico ristorante con qualche tavolo libero in una affollatissima serata estiva (c'era un motivo).

Il ristorante si presenta con un'aria un po' tirata, ma il menù aveva diverse opzioni allettanti. Abbiamo trovato l'accoglienza un po' fredda e l'atteggiamento del cameriere che ha preso l'ordine un po' scostante. Io ero attirato dalle due tartare di pesce sul menù, e il cameriere ci ha confermato che erano presenti entrambe (insieme a ostrica, fasolari e gamberoni) nel piatto di "crudi".

Arrivano due primi, dignitosi ma niente di che. Dopo un po' arriva un piatto con due ostriche, due gamberoni e tre fasolari. Niente tartare, quindi mi immagino che le porteranno a parte.

Passano dieci minuti e non arriva nulla, quindi fermiamo una cameriera (a cui avevamo già fatto alcune domande constatando che non sapeva nulla del menu) e le chiediamo dove sono le tartare. Lei si intimidisce ("...sono nuova!") ma dice che va in cucina a chiedere.

Passano più di cinque minuti e torna, tutta tremolante, chiedendo "ehm... scusate... ma le tartare le avete ordinate a parte?". Rispondiamo che erano scritte sul menù come parte dei "crudi", e lei riparte verso la cucina.

Passano altri cinque minuti e arriva un cuoco che ci dice "avevamo finito le tartare quindi abbiamo messo un'ostrica e un fasolaro in più". Il tutto senza chiedere cosa io ne pensassi, né prima né dopo. 25 euro per il piatto di crudi indicato in foto: troppo, per i miei gusti, così come il prezzo finale che abbiamo pagato...
