A Truly Magical Experience at Onda Azzurra

What a truly magical experience we had at Onda Azzurra Ristorante in Peschici! We're in town for a wedding, and as many places in the area are still closed for the season, we weren't sure where we'd find a meal.

As we were walking along the beach, a kind gentleman emerged and asked if we were looking for food. He then incredibly offered to open his restaurant just for us to make something simple! He called for backup, and soon, they were feeding 25 of us impromptu.

They brought out two excellent homemade pasta dishes: one with a rich tomato sauce and another with fresh mussels and clams.

Seriously, we had some of the best bites of our entire trip to Italy here, which is a huge statement considering the incredible food you find all over this country.

The entire experience felt like being amongst family. They were genuinely happy to feed us, and their warmth was palpable. I simply cannot recommend Onda Azzurra...

Premetto che siamo stati ospiti dello stabilimento per una settimana, pagato in anticipo. Decidiamo di mangiare al ristorante, facciamo presente fin dalla mattina presto di avere un bambino di 14 mesi. Proviamo una prima volta alle 12 per chiedere un piatto di pasta per il bimbo, risposta del gestore “signora, ora mangiamo noi, sennó quando mangiamo”. Facciamo dormire il bimbo e torniamo alle 13.30, nessun seggiolone al tavolo, ordiniamo dopo aver letteralmente rincorso il cameriere e ribadendo l’esigenza di far mangiare il bambino, dopo 40 minuti non arriva nulla, chiedo se per favore possono portarci qualsiasi cosa di veloce per il bimbo, risposta “signora, qua non c’è niente di pronto e andiamo in ordine di ordinazioni”, ribatto dicendo che vorremmo solo una pasta al sugo qualunque per il bimbo, purtroppo ricevo la stessa risposta. Non ci resta che aspettare, veniamo serviti dopo 45 minuti con due piatti di spaghetti alle vongole semi-crudi. Staremo qua a Peschici un’altra settimana, ma cambiamo stabilimento e ristorante. Anche lo stabilimento è gestito in modo pessimo, ogni mattina occorre ricordare che hai già pagato e pregare il farti aprire l’ombrellone dopo aver perso tempo a ricordare quale fosse il posto da loro assegnato (a detta loro una responsabilità del cliente).
