If you want a convenient location to hop aboard one of the ferries either to visit Capri or the Amalfi Coast, L’Approdo is perfect, as it’s located down at the Marina. ||The best I can describe the Marina is that it is a small fishing village. The view there was exactly what our hearts needed … watching the boats come in and out of the small harbor. ||I can’t say enough good things about our hosts, Ana and Tony. Our room was perfect and very quiet at night. Our room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. ||Staying down at the Marina takes you away from the noise and congestion of tourists. It’s an oasis. There is actually an elevator a few minutes away, that takes you to the top of the hillside to Sorrento. The cost is 1Euro/ person, is quick, and beats the walk up. ||They run a restaurant right across the street where we feasted on Seafood Ravioli, Spaghetti Vongole (clams), and pizza … the food was phenomenal, freshly made and reasonably priced. It’s also where you will be served with breakfast each morning, consisting of the best sweet croissants we’ve ever had, muffins, fruit, tea /coffee, fruit juice, cereal, etc. ||We are so thankful for our stay and look forward to returning for a visit. ||Our hosts...

Read moreI enjoyed being by the quiet port where I could enjoy my meals at their restaurant with a wonderful view. The B&B accommodation was basic and spacious. A ferry to Capri departs daily from the port. Other tour options from the port are also available. Before booking, I was informed there was a shuttle boat to Sorrento, but upon arrival, discovered it was not yet in season. Getting to Sorrento was easy, by using the nearby lift, walking an easy distance, and taking the train for a little over 2 euro, and returning before closure of the lift, approximately 8pm, a perfect time for me. I found Sorrento surprisingly busy and crowded for so early in the season, which made my time at the quiet port of Piano di Sorrento, enjoying my meal at the D'Approdo Restaurant and visiting with wonderful and favorite people, and now new friends, a most enjoyable part of my day. My gracious hostess offered me a ride to the train station since she would be driving that direction near the time of my departure (hope prayers are answered). I miss my new friends and look forward to returning to stay at B&B L'Approdo, by the port of Piano di Sorrento. Thank you so much for making my stay...
