Bistro’ Lurati — Restaurant in Porlezza

Mixed feelings. The food and wine were really very good. The problem was the service. We arrived at 20:45, there were only 3 tables occupied including ours, and the other two tables left long before we did. There were two waiters: a welcoming lovely waitress who left home at some point, and a waiter. Most of the time there was no one to talk to. When the steaks arrived no one came to ask if everything is fine. I wanted salt & pepper - so I had to go inside and look for the waiters, as they left the seating area to the kitchen in the upper floor. The waiter gave me a pepper mill that didn't function well, and for the salt I had to ask him again. He didn't seem pleased. This repeated itself when we had to wait 30 minutes for our deserts (just go and buy ice cream nearby), and one more time I went calling him from the kitchen to see what's going on. They practically moved tables to prepare for closing while we were still eating, and the time was only around 2130. When we wanted to pay - again, there was no one there and I had to look for the waiter who disappeared in order to change from his formalwear to t-shirt and get ready to go home... If they can't afford a waiter to always stay on the ground floor with the guests, then at least they should arrange a simple wireless bell/ringer to call them from upstairs. So, mixed feelings. On one hand - very good high quality (and expensive) food. On the other hand - unstable understaffed service, which calls for better and more...

This was a wonderful place to eat! A small place with a super atmosphere. The service was awesome and friendly. If you want a superb steak, this is the place to go. Steaks are their feature dish. We had a 4 course meal. My husband and I shared the first 3 courses. We started with the eggplant, mozzarella, and tomatoes dish. The eggplant was fried crispy and the mozzarella was excellent. Next, we had the ravioli. These were handmade and delicious. We just wished there were a couple more. Then for the main event, a 800g T-bone steak aged to perfection. Finally, we finished with dessert. Here, my husband had the cheesecake and I had the chocolate & caramel. Both were very delicious. I would highly recommend this place. Will definitely return if we are ever in the Lake...

I ate in this Bistro with my family on a Monday night. It took them 1h30 to serve three starters... the explanation to justify the delay was the lack of staff. Understandable but not justifiable... this was the longest service I have experienced in a long time. Luckily the company at the table was good, otherwise it would have been a VERY long night. Two tables walked out as they were tired to wait for someone to pay attention to them. It was an unacceptable service especially for the style this Bistro is trying to promote and achieve. If you want to be a luxurious restaurant then act up to it. At the end for 3 starters, a bottle of wine and 3 main course + 2 bottle of waters we spent 155€. Expensive for the service provided.
