Osteria di Mare Enfola — Restaurant in Portoferraio

I regret to ever leave a negative review but I must warn my fellow travelers to avoid the crudi. The tuna tartare did not taste fresh but we ate it anyway to not be rude, and let’s just say our plans after a romantic sunset dinner did not go according to plan. The pastas were very good and the dessert as well. The fish was very basic and insanely overpriced - 50 euro for 500g that produced two small portions served with simple potatoes and zucchini (I can have fish just as fresh for much cheaper back home!). The palmati antipasti was recommended but sadly mediocre. Service was friendly but slow and disorganized. Wine recommendation was perfect though. You can probably have a nice evening if you skip the crudi and antipasti. However, despite ample walking room between tables, several tables for 2 are inexplicably oriented with one person’s back to the view such that we and others traded spots halfway through dinner to share the sunset. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 We were swimming at the beach right in front of the restaurant when I got stung by a jellyfish. The lifeguard sent me up to the restaurant to rinse my arm with warm water. Since there were no clear signs to the toilets (or maybe I just didn’t notice them due to the pain), I went inside the restaurant and asked for help.

Instead of offering assistance, I was humiliated: a young staff member started shouting at me because I was wet and left a few drops of water on the floor — not dirty, just a bit of water that would have dried instantly in the heat. Even after I explained that I was in pain and had been sent by the lifeguard, he made even more fun of me and told his colleague that I was stupid.

Eventually, after my repeated requests, he reluctantly told me in the end to go around the corner to the toilets.

None of the young staff thought to actually help — their only concern was keeping the floor dry. For a restaurant that being praised for its beautiful atmosphere and good service, this was a complete disgrace. Humanity should come first, but here it was entirely absent.

We originally planned to have dinner here in the evening, but after this experience, we’d rather go to the small restaurant next door, where people still understand what hospitality means.

Wir waren direkt vor dem Restaurant am Strand schwimmen, als ich von einer Qualle gestochen wurde. Der Rettungsschwimmer schickte mich hinauf zum Restaurant, damit ich meinen Arm mit warmem Wasser ausspülen konnte. Da keine Schilder zu den Toiletten zu sehen waren (oder ich sie vor lauter Schmerzen nicht bemerkt habe), ging ich ins Restaurant und bat um Hilfe.

Statt mir zu helfen, wurde ich gedemütigt: Ein junger Mitarbeiter begann mich anzuschreien, weil ich nass war und ein paar Tropfen Wasser auf dem Boden hinterließ – nicht schmutzig, nur ein wenig Wasser, das in der Hitze sofort getrocknet wäre. Selbst nachdem ich erklärte, dass ich Schmerzen habe und vom Rettungsschwimmer geschickt wurde, machte er sich noch über mich lustig und sagte zu seinem Kollegen, ich sei dumm.

Schließlich, nach meinem wiederholten Nachfragen, sagte er mir widerwillig und erst ganz am Ende, dass ich um die Ecke zu den Toiletten gehen solle.

Keiner der jungen Mitarbeiter kam auf die Idee, tatsächlich zu helfen – ihre einzige Sorge war, dass der Boden trocken bleibt. Für ein Restaurant, das mit schöner Atmosphäre und guter Service wirbt, ist das eine völlige Blamage. Menschlichkeit sollte an erster Stelle stehen, hier war sie jedoch völlig abwesend.

Wir hatten eigentlich vor, am Abend hier zu essen, aber nach dieser erniedrigenden Erfahrung gehen wir lieber ins kleine Restaurant nebenan, wo man noch versteht, was Gastfreundschaft bedeutet.

La nostra esperienza all'Osteria di Mare Enfola è stata semplicemente eccezionale. Situata in una splendida posizione con affaccio diretto sul mare, questa osteria offre un'ambientazione che incanta i sensi e prepara al meglio per il delizioso pasto che segue. Cibo e Qualità Il cibo è di altissima qualità, con il pesce freschissimo che rappresenta il vero protagonista del menu. Ogni piatto è preparato con cura, esaltando i sapori naturali del pescato del giorno. La proposta del pescato del giorno è particolarmente apprezzabile, offrendo ai clienti la possibilità di gustare il meglio che il mare ha da offrire. Ogni boccone è un tripudio di freschezza e sapore, un'esperienza culinaria indimenticabile per gli amanti del pesce. Servizio e Personale Il servizio è impeccabile, con un personale educato, rispettoso e sempre disponibile. L'attenzione ai dettagli e la cortesia del personale rendono l'esperienza ancora più piacevole, contribuendo a creare un'atmosfera accogliente e rilassata. Atmosfera e Posizione La vista sul mare è semplicemente spettacolare, perfetta per una cena romantica o una serata speciale. Tuttavia, la posizione dell'osteria all'interno di un campeggio può risultare un po' scomoda da trovare. Questo è un piccolo peccato, poiché la bellezza e l'eleganza del ristorante meritano una location più facilmente accessibile e visibile. Prezzo Il prezzo è adeguato al livello del servizio e alla qualità del cibo offerto. Non è economico, ma ogni euro speso è giustificato dalla straordinaria esperienza culinaria e dall'eccezionale freschezza dei piatti. Conclusione In definitiva, l'Osteria di Mare Enfola è una gemma nascosta che vale assolutamente la pena scoprire. Nonostante la posizione un po' difficile da raggiungere, l'eccellenza del cibo, il servizio impeccabile e la meravigliosa vista sul mare ne fanno una meta imperdibile per chi visita l'isola d'Elba. Consigliatissimo per chi cerca una serata speciale all'insegna della buona...
