Osteria Ferraja — Restaurant in Portoferraio

The food was exellent. The location is nice although you won't be able to see the boats docking from a certain part of the reastraunt. The prices decent for what you got. SO FAR IT SEEMS PRETTY GOOD BUT IF YOU'RE READING THIS, THEN YOU'RE PROBABLY A TOURIST. If you are, don't expect any good service. THE WAITRESS SERVING US SEEMED CONSTANTLY ANNOYED BY OUR PRESENCE, HAVING THIS LITTLE FROWN ON HER FACE. WHEN SHE DROPPED THE WINE ON THE TABLE, SHE DIDN'T APOLOGIZE. I saw the same waitress later waving a conversation with 2 Italian couples, smiling while doing so. After we finished and requested the bill, they told us they only accepted cash. ONLY EXEPTED CASH IN A TOP RESTRAUNT LIKE THAT. They also charged us 2 of the dish, but we ordered 1 only, that "mistake" would have cost us about €15 more.

This place was recommended to us but unfortunately we left quite dissapointed… at first we thought we weren’t going to have a table but they managed to squeeze us in the back which was nice of them and we felt quite lucky. In the end it felt like we were in the back area where people were a bit neglected. Once we had our food which wasn’t too bad except for the poulpo which was bacially tasteless without seasoning and the soup we ordered was expected to be eaten without a spoon? Once we finished they completely forgot about us, leaving us looking at other tables being served nicely it seemed, so we left to have our desserts somewhere else. Best seafood restaurant we could imagine here on Elba. The price was about 28€ per person but absolutely worth it!!! We bought the deepfried calamari for the second time in a row after discovering how tasty it is😋. The foods that the four of us had were: tuna with pistachios, deep fried octopus with fries, deep fried calamari and octopus spaghetti. I can’t really say which dish was the best one because everything is very different and everything is really gooooood!!!
