Last week, I celebrated a special event at Al Duomo Restaurant, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. Every detail, from the ambiance to the hospitality and cuisine, was impeccable, making our celebration unforgettable.

Ambiance and Atmosphere: Upon entering Al Duomo, we were greeted by a warm and elegant atmosphere. The restaurant’s location, offering a stunning view of the cathedral, adds a magical touch to the dining experience. The beautifully designed interiors create a welcoming and refined environment, perfect for any occasion.

Service: The service was outstanding. The professional and attentive staff ensured every request was met with a smile, from the flexible reservation process to the impeccable service during dinner. The waitstaff were present but never intrusive, ensuring a seamless dining experience.

Cuisine: The highlight of Al Duomo is its revisited Lucanian cuisine. Every dish, from the appetizer of local cured meats and cheeses to the lamb cooked at a low temperature, was a revelation of authentic and well-balanced flavors. The desserts provided a perfect end to an exceptional meal.

The best meal we had in Italy! Found this on our drive from Ravello to Matera. Romantic, stone cellar ambiance right in Old Town. The fried pepper starter is like nothing we have ever seen or tasted! The homemade pasta dishes were so good we kept trading plates and making too many HAPPY sounds. We shared a main of beef fillet wrapped in prosciutto, and I think ever so lightly fried as it was crispy, flavor filled and tender beyond belief. Gabriel, our server, worked so hard to communicate and make fabulous recommendations. He loves food and is passionate to help you find exactly what you will enjoy. Pranzo post-covid (giugno 2021) al Duomo con menù preordinato dai festeggiati.

Location in pienissimo centro, in pratica a pochi metri dalla targa del punto più alto di Potenza ed appunto dal Duomo, di fronte al Museo Archeologico Nazionale della Basilicata “Dinu Adamesteanu”.

Incastonato nella pietra e nelle tipiche costruzioni della Potenza antica, chiamate "suttan"*; bell'ingresso e gli ambienti suddivisi da archi con volte curve. Questa architettura permette di stare in più persone e attutisce notevolmente i rumori di vocio senza trascurare che gli "open space" sono da birrerie o paninoteche (!). Piatti ben presentati e prodotti utilizzati tutti da "fresco"; il tovagliato come la posateria sono puliti e senza pecche. Buonissima anche la "cantina" per scelta vini a vista.

Servizi igienici pulitissimi e con buona separazione dalla zona commensali; la cucina non interferisce con odori e rumori. Ottima illuminazione e diffusione musica mai fastidiosa.

Non adatto a portatori handicap se non coadiuvati, vista la presenza scale, ma al momento e nel periodo estivo, hanno piattaforma all'aperto.

Rapido e professionale il "servizio ai tavoli" con la presenza costante ma non invasiva dei gestori (tra l'altro tutti giovani e pieni di entusiasmo e affabilità). I piatti "alla carte" spaziano tra continentale e non, con basi di cucina locale rivisti in modo sapiente; ottimo l'uso del sapido o salato e la cottura si nota che è eseguita da personale di esperienza.

Prezzi tra €€ e €€€ dove chiaramente molto può dipendere dai vini, più che dalle portate in sè.

Consigliato come validissima proposta per pranzo e/o cena: "ad maiora" ai ragazzi.
