Ristorante Gorgonia — Restaurant in Procida

Racist place, please avoid.

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant with high hopes, but we were left deeply hurt and disappointed. I am Spanish (with a look that could be considered Italian), and my boyfriend is Black. As soon as we arrived, the head waiter looked at both of us, paused, and without even checking for real availability, told us there were no more tables.

Minutes later, we watched other people walk in and get seated clearly there were tables available. This was not about a reservation or timing. This felt like a decision based on how he looks.

We have heard stories about racism in parts of Italy, but we’ve only experienced it once before this was the second time, and it was blatant. It’s sad and unacceptable that in 2025, people are still being turned away simply because of their skin color.

We urge others to think twice before supporting a place that treats people this way. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and...

I have never experienced this before. What a rude rude rude service I’ve experienced here. It started during the day: we came from the beach (so we weren’t nicely dressed) and wanted to make a reservation for the night. We kindly asked if it was possible to eat there. After he scanned us from to till top he answered no. We already felt a bit weird but whatever. Later that night, dressed well and nice we asked if there was a table available. The waiter (different one then before) responded rude but said yes sit down. We sat down and waited. He was grumpy, rude and clearly showed us that he didn’t want us to be there. terrible service!

we came first in the evening, waited for HALF AN HOUR to order, three other tables that came after us already got their drinks and appetisers by that time..

mista salad was absolutely bland, oil and vinegar didn’t help. octopus bruschetta was of a very mild flavour as well and my husband’s pasta came so undercooked, it was impossible to chew..

we’ve been to Gorgonia few years ago and had an exceptional evening, today was a big fail, especially to compare to other restaurants we visited in the previous days.
