Hotel la Casa sul Mare — Hotel in Procida

We have stayed for 1 week at hotel Casa sul mare in September. We had a double room with balcony and sea view. Breakfast was really nice with fresh orange juice, yoghurt, fresh cappucino or espresso, fruit, cake, etc. You can choose to eat inside or at the outside patio with view of the marina. Nice linen tablecloths and table service for the coffee ! Our room was 1 floor down, with a short flight of stairs. The lady at the reception was so nice and helpful. We requested beach towels and they were ready in our room upon arrival. There is a water cooker in the room with a choice of tea and coffee, which we used every day. The room was quiet, we had good nights sleep. We travelled directly from Naples airport with Alibus to Molo Beverello and boarded the next available boat. Upon arrival in Procida we bought a 1-week bus ticket for 14,50 euro which gave us the freedom to travel everywhere by bus. We visited the museums, the house of Graziella, the church, Terra Murata, all the beach towns, the cemetery, and did a lot of walking too. Looking our over scenic Marina Corricella, this cozy property was the perfect end to our 2 week stay around the Gulf of Naples. Life is simpler on Procida. There are things to see and do, but mostly you just want to sit back and take in the views. It’s the perfect antidote to the frenzy of Naples Our room, as most, had a terrace looking out over the marina, and it was the perfect spot to watch the day go by and enjoy the sunset. The breakfast hit the spot (don’t miss the oblong Procidan pastries with carmelized sugar on the top). Franco or Laura make your coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, and will provide yogurt as well. Breakfast is served outside overlooking the marina. The A/C system functioned perfectly (once we figured out how to turn it on). The bathroom was tight but functional. Maria Therese was a gracious host and was a prompt communicator throughout the year as we reached out with questions. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The beds are some of the firmest we have experienced on the road (but that’s better than soft and mushy). The perfect end...

"Quando andrete in paradiso vi sembrerà un giorno normale": queste parole, scritte sulla lavagnetta vicino al bar dell'albergo, in un rigoglioso giardino che dà sul mare, riassumono alla perfezione il senso dell'esperienza presso questa struttura, situata sulla Marina di Corricella, a Procida.

Abbiamo prenotato spinte dalle ottime recensioni, e, dopo una settimana splendida, non possiamo che confermare quello che in moltissimi hanno scritto, e garantire che non c'è altro posto a Procida dove alloggeremmo (e alloggeremo, perché abbiamo già messo in conto di tornarci).

L'albergo è delizioso, nella posizione più panoramica dell'isola, e curato in ogni particolare; le camere sono estremamente confortevoli e ben tenute e di una pulizia eccezionale (asciugamani, lenzuola e bagni compresi). I materassi sono davvero comodi, abbiamo dormito magnificamente tutte le notti, anche grazie al condizionatore e al fatto che gli infissi isolano molto bene da qualunque rumore esterno. Annesso alla camera c'è persino un piccolo balcone con due sedie sdraio, da poter usare come solarium. Da proprietarie di cani e amanti degli animali non abbiamo potuto che apprezzare moltissimo il fatto che siano ammessi anche i cani.

La colazione è servita nel giardino, dalle 8 alle 10, è abbondantissima e soddisfa ogni palato: offrono dolce e salato e c'è la possibilità per allergici e intolleranti (come mia sorella) di avanzare richieste specifiche (es. Cappuccino con latte di riso, alimenti gluten free, ecc.). Le lingue di Procida (dolce tipico del luogo), le marmellate e le torte fatte in casa sono il vero non plus ultra: consigliamo di assaggiare assolutamente la marmellata di limoni della proprietaria, una prelibatezza.

La vista è semplicemente magica: da qui si può vedere l'isola che lentamente comincia a svegliarsi alle prime ore del mattino, e il sole che si tuffa dietro le caratteristiche case variopinte al tramonto, invadendo il porticciolo di una magnifica luce arancione.

Immancabile la gita in barca, che consigliamo vivamente, organizzata da Piero, che consente di fare il giro dell'isola a bordo del suo gozzo, in compagnia della sua guida esperta, per immergersi in piccole calette dall'acqua cristallina, difficilmente raggiungibili a piedi e poco note ai turisti.

Mi sono chiesta quale sia stato il fattore determinante per l' ottima riuscita del soggiorno, oltre alla elevata qualità della struttura; e ho compreso che a fare la differenza è l'attenzione garbata dei proprietari, una splendida famiglia del posto, che rispetta e conosce l'isola e la sua storia e ne trasmette l'amore a chi la visita.
