This place is taking advantage of the fact that it has a nice view and is the only one in that area. Too bad the staff is offering a horrible service right at the entrance. There was a big queue to get a table and I spoke with the guy who was assigning tables almost ten times asking for a table for two. He kept telling me he is checking and then when he was coming back he was letting other groups of two go inside. His argument was that I was not staying in the line (it was a bit difficult to stay in a perfect line as everybody was pushing to be in the front, so I was left a bit to the side). However, I’ve been there in the front for 15 min talking to him every two minutes, there’s no way he didn’t know I was there the whole time. Finally he let me in, but my boyfriend was not with me in the line as he was taking a call on the side of the cabin. The guy wouldn’t let me in because he was not with me in that exact moment(even though earlier he let a group of 8, but not everyone came at once). Very rude overall. It’s a pitty as the cabin looks nice. I trully hope people get better...
Read moreThe only place in the whole of our two week trip to Italy that refused to fill up a bottle of water.
The fountain outside says non drinking water (unlike all of the other similar looking ones on the mountain). After mistakenly filling up my bottle before I saw the tiny sign, I had to pour out my entire bottle. I assumed the staff would happily fill up a bottle using the tap right next to them behind the bar like every other hut we have visited but I was informed it was "not possible" and I had to buy a bottle of water. It was only after explaining the lack of signage on the decorative fountain outside that the staff debated amongst themselves and finally agreed that I would be permitted to go downstairs to fill up my bottle from the toilets tap. It would have been much quicker for them to just fill my bottle at the bar... The place was also practically empty so it wasn't as if my request was taking staff away from serving customers.
My wife used to take guests here and we had planned to come for lunch on our last day in Alta Badia but it's clear that it's changed since...
Read moreThe food is great, and this is a place we always stop at at Sellaronda. However, this time, the hostess was rude and aggressive. Our group of ten (with a bill of over 500 euros) got seated.
The hostess then kept rushing us demanding an order. Some of our people took a while to get there (15 minutes) and although we ordered drinks, the hostess Wass angry and tood, even banging the table demanding the food is ordered.
We had most of the menu, and the food is good, But treating your customers badly rui s the experience. Given that its not at all cheap, so courtesy will go along way.
There seems to be a strong preference for German speakers - table next to us was also slow (and loud), and nothing but smiles for them, where as we had strong glares and table...
