Ristorante Patzenfeld — Restaurant in Pustertal - Val Pusteria

I was shocked that somebody gave 1 star here because it totally screws the average scoring but then, frustrated people are always around. It is the same guy who wrote the same elsewhere, sometime under fake credentials. Yes the restaurant is expensive. But the place is gorgeous the service good and the wine list excellent. The food is fine, perfectly prepared and the portions are ok. It is within the caravan park which is an incredible experience in itself. So yeah not every night but a couple times in a week stay make the holiday perfect ! And the same quality elsewhere would not be that much cheaper either... Südtirol has developed an exquisite cuisine and this does not come cheap.

Edit 2024… we gave it a break because when we were here 2 years ago we were disappointed but this time (July 2024) it was perfect. Perfect food, perfect service, perfect location. Obviously they listened to comments and reacted. Yes the price is high but in line with the quality. Hence more pictures. And yes, portions are big.

Unfortunately quite a few frustrated people can simply not understand this.. it is just above their level. if I think about how often I had bad food in restaurants with better reviews.. it is in the nature of things for restaurants of this quality it is impossible to...

A fantastic experience! The first time we came here we had dinner in this restaurant as we were staying at the hotel, with no idea of what to expect, and we just had a wonderful dinner in a charming environment.

This year we came back and by chance we ended up reading the reviews, here on googlemaps.

It just makes no sense to read so many negative reviews. Yes, this is a hi-standards restaurant where prices are not the cheapest, but for the quality and the service, it’s all completely worth it!

The dishes are delicious and tasty, the portions of tagliolini and risotto we had were totally fine, and with 1 starter and 1 primo piatto each, we went home absolutely satisfied. Also: bread and butter accompany the table and make the coperto totally worth the 2€ that a lot of reviewers are complaining about!

Restaurant Patzenfeld offers various lunch- and dining options. All are carefully curated by the amazingly competent and friendly staff who anticipate your every need. The dishes are meticulously prepared, full of local ingredients and… delicious! For dinner, either choose between the laid-back atmosphere of the taverne downstairs (economically priced), the slightly more upscale menu and character on the ground floor, or the full gourmet experience in the Happacher Stube. Lastly, it’s worth mentioning that the care and attention for our baby daughter during our lunching and dining experiences was wonderful. Would absolutely recommend...
