Emmas Bistro — Restaurant in Pustertal - Val Pusteria

Wow. Reading through some of these reviews and some of you are so harsh! I thought this restaurant was amazing. First of all, I think I made a great choice by ordering the ribs. They were just the right amount of soft and chewy (the way I like mine), along with a side of cabbage and polenta. The cost was around €19 if I remember correctly. So I am American, and I promise, you'd be hard-pressed to find a meal this good, for this low of a price at a highly trafficked tourist location. We were fortunate that we chose the clockwise route around Lago di Braies, so that we ended at the restaurant. They had some pretty good looking desserts. Il bistrot si trova a costeggiare letteralmente le rive del meraviglioso lago di Braies e facendo una corroborante passeggiata sulle sue sponde, è quasi inevitabile non fermarsi qui per rintemprarsi e recuperare con un buon piatto o una bevanda caldi le energie! È stato ricavato da una vecchia stalla (set esterno anche di Un passo dal cielo, la serie tv) ovviamente completamente rimodernato, tirato a lucido e reso davvero un locale gradevolissimo: nonostante la modernità e l'aria da lounge che emana, il calore, l'accoglienza, la comodità tipici di uno chalet non mancano assolutamente grazie ad alcune parti del vecchio stabile conservate e usate come arredo e l'immancabile legno chiaro! Mi ha lasciata un po' spiazzata il fatto che si tratti di un self service: bisogna entrare dalla zona ristorante e poi, in fila, si accede alla zona della cucina per assaporare uno dei tanti piatti proposti, tutto ovviamente tipico altoatesino! Tutto è self service, anche i dolci e la zona bar, gli unici che non lo sono, sono i vini che vanno richiesti al personale, che poi provvederà a servire il calice. Noi abbiamo preso due polente con speck e formaggio e ci sono piaciute moltissimo! Super golose, gustosissime, bollenti (cosa molto gradita viste le temperature polari fuori) e anche molto nutrienti: lo speck croccante, sapido e saporito con un fondo di affumicatura spiccato ben si sposa con il formaggio invece sottile, dolce e che sa molto di latte! Un pranzo piuttosto semplice ma con quella sensazione che solo il comfort food dopo l'attività fisica sa dare! Al bar poi abbiamo preso due caffè, un ovetto di cioccolato al latte molto buono e poi nel pomeriggio due the caldi! Ha tanti posti a sedere all'interno ma all'esterno da sicuramente il meglio di sé, in quanto potete prendere il vassoio e godervi il pasto appunto sulla sponda del lago, immersi nella natura e nella pace del luogo! I prezzi, anche se self service, sono piuttosto alti rispetto al solito, però calcolando la zona direi che, oltre a valerne la pena, è piuttosto comprensibile, data anche l'alta affluenza di turisti! In ogni caso, si "ripaga" del fatto che le porzioni di tutti i piatti proposti sono abbondanti e sicuramente...

Nice place to sit and have some food while admiring the lake views. Hot food gets served after 11am while you can get their selection of drinks and pastry before that time. However, I saw many flies on the croissant so I avoided ordering that. Coffee was not bad but hot chocolate was too sweet. Cheesecake wasn’t the best either but decent.
