We made a reservation here because I have celiac disease, and there appeared to be great gluten free options on the menu. I wish I could say the experience was better. While the food was excellent, the service was not. When we arrived, I mentioned that we had a reservation for 915. The staff member at the front was having difficulty locating my name. Because I have a bit of a long and non traditional name, I saw it on the book, and pointed it out. It was if I had deeply inconvenienced him. We were aware the kitchen closed at 945, so we had already looked at the menu and were ready to order. He did not return to take our order until around 930, and when we made our order, he said - not possible, kitchen is closed, only pizza. And then he walked away. We were confused, but when he returned, we apologized and offered to order something else. Instead, he confirmed that we had originally ordered the steak, and then left again. When order came out, he all but dropped it in front of me. My partner ordered a salad, and was never brought oil/ vinegar. Listen, we all have bad nights. We brushed it off as just that, and would have continued the rest of our night as usual, if the staff member hadn’t start complaining loudly (in italian) to another server, about us. Fortunately, we both understand Italian, and heard every word. We never saw him again, and left with a bad taste in our mouths, that wasn’t...

Pizza Hans is hyped and mentioned in several blogs we’ve read in preparation of our holiday, but also on the camping people were talking about the famous pizza Hans.

You need a reservation and the hype is real on the amount of people going there. Unfortunately the hype is not real on the quality of the food nor service.

Food: This at minimum a mediocre pizza. Recently I had a better pizza in Edinburgh Scotland. So if you can’t beat the Scots in Italy with your pizza skills that’s telling you something.

Service: Very neutral people and no smiles at all. When we left some of the grumpy looking waiters was crossing our path, normally you would expect him to pause and let us pass, but this fellow just continued his walk making part of our group needed to wait on him. If he was carrying the Olympic flame maybe, but this guy was empty handed.

So service very poor and the pizza mediocre at best. Not worth the wait...

Delicious Pizza & Warm Atmosphere Visited: July 12, 2025

Hans Pizzeria really lives up to the hype! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with friendly smiles and made us feel welcome.

The pizza was fantastic—crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. We also loved the fresh salad bar, especially the potato salad and pasta options. It was a great add on.

Service was good overall, but no one checked on us after the food arrived—we had to flag someone down a few times. Not a big deal, but worth noting.

Most staff spoke English, and it was the only place in Italy we saw Sriracha and Tabasco on the table—nice touch!

Definitely recommend for a casual and tasty meal in the Dolomites. It’s a popular place so it’s a noisy (not for a romantic night out), but...

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was lacking, as the staff who served us were inattentive and did not seem to prioritize customer needs. They failed to inform us in advance that all asparagus dishes were unavailable, which was frustrating. I had to switch to a mushroom risotto, but unfortunately, it was bland compared to others I've had before. I ended up adding a lot of cheese powder, salt, and pepper to make it more flavorful. Additionally, the risotto's cream was too watery, and the staff did not even make eye contact when serving the food, which made the experience feel impersonal. The Hugo spritz drink was excessively sweet, and my friend’s pizza was disappointing as well—tasteless, too moist, and not even sliced for convenience.

This place really deserves 5 stars with great food and service. Very busy and popular restaurant in the Dobbiaco area. Ensure you book your table ahead to avoid waiting like us. We came during weekday for dinner without reservation and it was pretty full. We put our name down and waited around 25-30 mins for the table. Well worth the wait though. The girls who worked there were really friendly and helpful and always smiling. Really made you feel welcomed. The restaurant is spacious with nice deco. Great atmosphere. Food came out quickly. We order gourmet pizza and pasta of the day. Both were good especially the pizza was one of the best I had in Italy. Nutella tiramisu was so tasty too, very big portion. Price is cheap for the quality and portion. Highly recommended!

very nice service, I was too tired and arrived dobbiaco at 9pm, most of restaurant was closed, when I call Hans to check, they said kitchen has 10mins to close, and they are full, but they suggest me to come since I was along, I get a bar seat (I don’t care at all since I was very hungry and tired for 10hous hiking),and the interesting thins was they delivered the wrong pizza to me, I didn’t ask since all is ok for me and maybe it’s translation issue(menu is Italian), a few minutes later the waiter came to me to said they need to changed the correct pizza to me, and he apologized again when I check out.it’s normal but also very nice, anyway, it’s a good restaurant which saved my life from hungry. By the way, pizza and soup is delicious
