Be aware that there are two different restaurants - one in Ruffano and one called Meraviglia in Torre Suda. We thought we’d booked the former but actually booked the latter by mistake as the images on Google are very misleading. While the Mervaglia setting is super nice, I’m not sure the menu is the same at both sites. We chose the tasting menu for €60pp, which on reflection was quite overpriced. Some of the dishes were very tasty but the portions were far too large for what you’d usually expect on a tasting menu, meaning we quickly got full and couldn’t finish the last 2 courses. Essentially, it’s like being given 5 full-sized dishes - you might as well just go à la carte, choose what you want and save some money. We were also served by 4 different waiters, some of whom didn’t even explain the dishes to us. Given the price and reviews, we were expecting better service. This, combined with a bizarre and out-of-place performance from a fire eater, spoiled the overall dining experience. We are sure our experience would have been better if we’d eaten at the Ruffano restaurant.
Edit: response from the owner...
Read moreTotally overpriced. Aperol spritz at 10 euros when everywhere else charges 5. They have a sea urchin pasta on the menu for 23 euros but fail to tell you that its canned sea urchin! With so much fresh seafood in the area, its simply unforgivable to trick people. If there is a ban on sea urchins, come up with a different dish! But even more disappointing is their management, very rude and pretentious. The owner seems to think its some sort of Michelin restaurant when in reality they just put a few deck chairs on a patch of gravel...
Read moreManagement is very rude. I actually witnessed the owner hissing at another client when they complained that their bill had higher prices than on the menu. We had the same issue with desserts being charged more than advertised! They also charged 3.5 euro cover charge for my 5 year old child who mostly played in the pebbles and was not at the table! Overall prices are too high for what it is, no real sunset view as there is a carpark right in front (!) but most disappointing was the...
