Solatio — Restaurant in Racale

Solatio is a restaurant located near Gallipoli, in Puglia. This place is super cute and very clean, with super chill vibes. The service is very fast, and the staff kind and welcoming, they also suggest and recommend some wonderful and tasty dishes. The food is amazing, especially the fish and the seafood cause is fresh and with an intense flavor. They have a small menu, but you can find anything even thought the main courses are seafood based. There is also the chance to eat vegetarian cause there are grilled vegetables. The dessert was amazing: one of the girls recommended to try the Spumone, that is a speciality typical of the southern Italy, in particular Lecce. Nice location right by a little cove with easy access to the water thanks to some seemingly natural stairs in the rocks. There’s also a guard watching people who are bathing.

The bar itself looks very nice and has sun beds for rental. Some 90€ a bit secluded and others for 50€. It comes with a bottle of alcohol. No substitutions if you don’t drink unfortunately, we had to pay for water and coffee we got instead, on top.

Other bad point on area is the umbrellas don’t fully hide from the sun all of the time, no towel is provided and the (paid) shower didn’t work when we were there.

Service is quite slow from some of the staff especially the girls at the entrance, and a bit condescending. Guys behind the bar were good.

Me my wife and the kids have Been here for few days during our "Salento" holiday, and we been looked after like Stars. The sea view is unbelievable, it's not a sandy beach, it's a rocky one, but there is access to the sea, so not an issue. The food is mainly based on fish dishes, like you would expect it to be on the sea front, but they also have burgers and other things to offer for kids or none fish eaters.
