Ristorante Giacomo — Restaurant in Reggello

Jul 2022. Classic Tuscan restaurant, located at about 1000m, in a forest area. Bit tricky to arrive by car, but parking for free close by. Great on hot summer days. We had booked in advance and this was necessary as the restaurant was fully booked for lunch. A lot of staff and very quick service. Wine card a bit (too) simple. Food was classic Tuscan style; good meat, good pasta and the antipasti were also fine. All in all perfect for the occasion. Nice view of the valley and overall jovial atmosphere. Recommended to escape city heat for a good lunch. Nearby there are some parks for playing/relaxing and a forest with many...

Attirata dai feedback positivi dei miei colleghi ho voluto provare questo ristorante molto conosciuto in Valdarno. Locale casereccio, facilmente raggiungibile anche a un disabile, dispone di parcheggio in loco e grazie alla sua posizione è sicuramente ideale per le giornate estive. Offre un menú principalmente incentrato su porcini e tartufo ma per chi non ne è amante offre anche qualche altra scelta. Noi eravamo in tre e abbiamo preso un antipasto alla giacomo (a mio parere, dato il prezzo, 12€ a testa aveva i pezzi un pó contati) poi abbiamo proseguito con due tagliate al tartufo (20€ l'una, erano molto fini ma buone )e una tagliata al pepe rosa e rosmarino (16€ un pó troppo unta) accompagnate da un fungo trifolato (8€ molto buono). In fine abbiamo preso un cheesecake ai frutti di bosco(6€) e due marroni alla grappa con gelato alla crema (più grappa che gelato 5€ l'uno). Nel complesso tutto buono ma mi aspettavo qualcosa di piú vista tutta questa pubblicità. Prezzi un pó alti in generale a mio parere sia per i dolci che per l'acqua 3€ (nemmeno al cinese tra poco). Diciamo che non è male ma si puó trovare di meglio. Consiglio se volete farvi una giratina al fresco, per il resto insomma...non sempre è bene scegliere sentendo il parere...

Gutes Essen, aber falsches Fleisch und Chaos beim Service

Ich war im Restaurant Giacomo und hatte mir ehrlich gesagt mehr erwartet. Nach der Bestellung kam eine Portion, bei der ich dachte, das muss ein Scherz sein. Auf der Karte stand „Beef“ – was für mich und jeden anderen klar Rindfleisch bedeutet. Die Servicekraft erklärte mir dann auf Italienisch, dass es in Italien „Beef“ auch für verschiedene Fleischsorten geben könne. Für mich klang das eher wie eine Ausrede, zumal ich vor der Bestellung extra gefragt hatte, wie groß die Portion ist und ob das Fleisch gut sei. Die Antwort war „ja“ – am Ende kam aber Schwein statt Rind. Das habe ich zurückgehen lassen.

Dazu kam, dass ich dreimal nach einem süßen Wein gefragt habe, den ich – wie in Italien üblich – zum Dessert trinken wollte. Die Bedienung erklärte mir, dass man den nur nach dem Essen trinke und wollte ihn mir vorher nicht bringen. Aus meiner Sicht sollte es aber meine Entscheidung sein, wann ich den Wein trinke.

Das Essen selbst war geschmacklich top, nur von der Hauptspeise bin ich nicht satt geworden. Zum Schluss gab es noch eine falsche Rechnung: Statt 88 € wurden mir 126 € berechnet. Das wurde an der Theke vor dem Bezahlen zwar korrigiert, sollte aber...
