A boutique hotel/restaurant about 15 mins drive from the center of Tropea but very close to a beach at Capo Vaticano, with a shuttle bus taking you there twice a day.||Rooms were as described and very clean, no frills but provided everything we needed on our 7 night stay. We ate at the restaurant four nights and enjoyed the local Calabrian cooking and wines a lot||As other reviewers note, the owner Ignazio and the staff are very welcoming. All were helpful, especially Pepe the pizza chef with whom we made a deal and he drove us where we need to go for several days which was very helpful||The train station is 5 mins away and great for exploring other towns BUT the last train is around 9:00pm so not good for later nights. When you arrive by train in the dark you have to walk through a pitch black cornfield for a couple of mins, but that just made our experience more fun||The local beach is fine. No longer free as a 15 euro daily charge has been introduced but they didn't charge us in the end.||What really makes the place though is the owner, his family and staff who make you so welcome, like staying with family. The owner's dad is the sweetest man and his daughter, Elizabeta, was fun - especially getting us to try all the Italian liquors.||The 'shuttle' from the airport cost 100euro so if you can find a way to get to Capo Vaticano by train it's much cheaper||We will remember the warm welcome and friends...
