La Brasserie — Restaurant in Rome

My group decided to go here since it was late and we had been outside all day.

The service was good for most of the night, however the food is questionable depending on what you order (we took a look at the buffet, definite no for us).

The part of the group that ordered basic dishes (club sandwich, Marriott burger), came out with simple dishes that were nice, like the sandwich, or bad like the burger (ordered medium-well, came out really well done, asked for medium instead, still came out too cooked, the burger meat was also very processed).

The other half of the group ordered steak, chicken, and fish and it came out very well (the steak looked too over cooked but had a distinct and smooth flavor) and they enjoyed it.

Bill came and then we signed and didn’t think much about it. Walking out of the place, we were stopped and informed that there was a mistake and so we had it fixed.

Then came the issue. We travel significantly and out of habit that if a mistake with the bill happens, we keep a copy of the bill that a mistake was made on as well as a copy of the rectified bill. The hostess would only give us one copy and while we tried to explain to her why we want both copies she would talk over us.

This review is for the bar. By far, the worst (and most expensive) food of the trip. My wife had the burger. The bread was rock hard to the point it was not even eatable, the bacon was charred black and the cheese may as well been spray cheese. In the end she threw away the bun and just had the meat with a fork and knife. The drinks were mediocre at best but 2-3x the price of anywhere we went on the trip. I can’t even explain how bad it was. Also, the service was terrible. They would not let us order at the bar directly but it seemed every time we wanted something else we had to go to the bar to find the waitress only to be reminded we could not order at said bar.
