We choose this restaurant after our first choice was closed. It at first presented itself well, Clean, nice decor and the reviews were mostly positive. The waiter a middle aged gentleman appeared promptly to take our order his demeanor was blunt not necessarily negative but not positive either. The bread basket was a warning of things to come, stale to the point were it could be used as a weapon. Bruschetta and battered courgette flower to start. Bruschetta one of our favourites was literally sliced tomato on toast with a drizzle of olive oil the most basic Bruschetta I've ever seen and flavour to match. The courgette flower tasted of fish clearly duevto them frying it in oil previously used, cold in the middle aswell. The grilled lamb cutlets with a side of fries I had for mains seemed have been violently beaten to death (by the aforementioned bread ) as not a single bone remained intact. The result, bone fragments in almost every bite(I did finish them they were cooked well enough). The fries were undercooked and not seasoned. The wife seemed to enjoy her lasagne. I'm not normally one to review bad experiences the best places can have bad days my review is based on one experience. But what can't be ignored is the middle aged waiter Constantly grabbing the younger waitress working the floor aswell. From an outside perspective it did not look wanted and made for a uncomfortable meal. After all of this I wanted out they hadn't even cleared our plates before I was asking for the bill, I didn't even want to wait for the 3 euros change( it wasn't a tip it was a money i was willing to leave behind just to get...
Read moreOur first night on our return visit to Rome, our apartment agent recommended this restaurant which was a 5 minute walk from our accommodation. We had a great meal, the food was excellent and the pricing very reasonable. Service was meticulous. We were charged a cover charge for the 2 of us which we were somewhat surprised about and when I queried this with another restaurant, they advised that the cover charge had been cannot be charged by law since around 1996 so we were quite taken aback. The cover charge we were charged was €2 but it is the principle of the matter. When we returned for dinner on 5 October, my son paid the bill as it was my pre-birthday dinner, and I did not want to query whether he had been charged a cover charge of €4 (since there were 4 of us). Allegedly the cover charge can be because of the bred and if you eat it BUT the restaurant we went to for my actual birthday dinner provided bread, which we ate, and DID not charge the cover charge. It just made me reluctant to return but overall it is an...
Read moreWe are staying at raganelli hotel and the hotel staff recommended this hotel and said we get a 10% discount. Got to the restaurant the girl at the entrance was lovely and welcoming but once in we found the waiter abrupt. The food was basic, I will go to the restaurant nextdoor for better food. We ordered 2pizzas 10euros each and a couple of peach ice tea. We also asked for still water and what we got was tap water, guess what on the bill this water was charged 2.50euros. In total the bill was 32euros,we asked why the bill was that much, there was a charge of 4euros we didnt understand where it came from..the guy explained it was because they charge 4euros for the table mats and serviettes I have never heard of this before. The peach tea was 4euros each, yet we paid 3 euros for the same drink in the restaurant next door. Please please avoid this restaurant so many negatives than positives. I think the charging for serviettes and papermats did it for me will never go back there. Save your money go eat some nice...
