Frantoio il Casone Antico — Restaurant in Rosignano Marittimo

We did not eat in the restaurant - we only stopped by to shop local goodies 😁 - and what good of a choice this was!

Very friendly owners that offered straight to taste the oil and balsamico. All products come from the region, including Olive oil, Balsamico, Pesto, honey, jam, spices ... I think in the rear I even saw some ham and cheese - but not sure about this. A good variety of wine is available as well.

Viel zu teuer für das was man bekam. Wir waren zu viert essen. Uns wurde ein Stück Fleisch von 1450g empfohlen für 5,5€ pro hundert gramm. Kann man nicht meckern. Der Knochen war jedoch so groß dass für 4 Personen 2-3 dünne Scheiben Fleisch übrig blieben. Geschmack war gut. Dafür doch sehr teuer. 6€ waren die Beilagen. Es gab zur Auswahl Bohnen oder Salat. Naja .. Der Salat bestand jediglich aus 5 Blättern Blattsalat und einer halben ,in dünne Scheiben geschnittenen ,roten Zwiebel. War nur essbar indem ich es selbst mit Balsamico und Olivenöl gewürzt habe. Die Bohnen waren weiße Bohnen, keine große Schale und eher geschmacklos. Das ist jedoch Geschmackssache. Es hat aber 3 von 3 Personen nicht wirklich geschmeckt. Wein war gut , jedoch teure Auswahl. (Billgste Flasche 17€ wenn ich mich richtig erinnere). Für 15€ gab es eine Antipasto Platte. Typisch mit Käse, Wurst, Oliven , Knoblauch. Nichts außergewöhnliches aber eher für 2 Personen als für 4 ausreichend. Zum Glück gab es zum coperto ,wie es üblich ,ist Brot und das ausreichend, wodurch man sich wenigstens auffüllen konnte. Auf dem Tisch stand Olivenöl, weißer und brauner Balsamico und Chilliöl, was wirklich alles lecker war. Auch das Tiramisu war sehr lecker. Service war gut. Ambiente ist ganz schön.

Man kann im Laden das Öl und Balsamico sowie Olivenseife etc. erwerben. Preislich natürlich etwas hoch aber angemessen. (Gut ,fast 30€ für Olivenseife würde ich nicht...

The best grill you can find in Toscana!

Every time we come to Toscana we must have a couple of evenings at Frantoio Il Casone Antico! The grills they prepare are simply amazing! Great portions at an affordable price. Always very kind staff and the service they offer really makes you feel home! My wife in particular loves their homemade vinegars and olive oils… simply the best!
