Piz Sella Ristorante — Restaurant in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

I have been coming to Val Gardena for over twenty years and unfortunately only discovered this restaurant about 10 years ago by default! This place makes hands down the best pizza I have EVER tasted and I have been to over 50 countries and travelled extensively in Italy for over twenty five years. The consistency of the quality of their pizza in nothing short of incredible and has a lot to do with the quality of the yeast they use. If I remember correctly the yeast they use is over 40 years old. Incredible! I must say I had a good chuckle this year as I have not been there for the past couple of years as I have been sailing around the world ....... they now have a sign outside the restaurant stating "arguably the best pizza on the Sella Ronda" They are the master of understatement! ....... It is the best in Italy and I have taken over 50 of my friends to this restaurant over the years and none of them have disagreed with me regarding their pizzas!! ....... Oh and they make a great pasta too!

The roller baker, Antonio Sanson, is a remarkable man as he has sailed his yacht round the world and written a book about it. If you can read Italian check it out ..... the book title...

The aglio e olio pasta was to murder for.

4 stars instead of 5, because the card machine was not working and they kept asking us to pay (total 5 times) because their machine was showing the payments as rejected while our bank account showed the transactions as passing. The same happened to other customers. It seems that the problem was the wifi connection of the POS. We didn't lose any money at the end, but their behaviour and insistency to just keep putting the card on their machine, even though in our bank accounts it was showing like we paid 5 times, was really bad...

I have been skiing for the last 6 days in the whole area and here in this restaurant I had the best pizza so far.

The atmosphere is very cozy here, the food and the pizza is amazing and so is the tiramisu, which I had for a desert.

The service was brilliant and our waiter was Vito. He was super friendly smiling and joking with us.

So to sum it up, Piz Sella restaurant is the best place around for pizza lovers and more. I highly...
